Help! I Need a Safe!

Here's my safe...

Added a GoldenRod dehumidifier thing. Tapped 4 lag bolts into each corner down into the concrete of my basement garage. Placed it flush against the cinderblock wall to resist tipping. The back of safes are usually a weak spot also.

I guess it's good....no one has tried breaking into it, however. It keeps my rifles and high carbon knives rustfree.

I'd recommend the digital/electronic controls rather than the mechanical tumblers and keys and such.

Also a big expense is having it moved. I got lucky and got a scratch/dent floor model at my local Co-Op and they delivered it for $50. Two big ol' cornfed country boys who looked like former defensive linemen got it placed for me. I told them to leave it on the pallet to give it more ground clearance in case of water line breakage everything would be above the water line. Plus it got it up higher for easier access.

My wife put some photo-albums and licenses, certificates, etc. in there too. A good investment even if it only pays off in peace of mind. The old addage when buying a safe is something I've found to be true, also. Buy a safe that seems much bigger than you'll ever need. You'll "grow" into it...trust me on this. ;)

Where do you live exactly?

LOL! You don't need a safe in Kentucky! Everyone already has guns and knives of their own - it's required ot be a citizen of the state I believe, maybe unspoken but pretty much a given ;) :D

Mostly I just want Cobalt to try to take Ft. Knox. I was going to post the address of Ft. Knox, but it's just: Ft. Knox, apparently. A little too obvious.

I think this is the video that ruined my bargain shopping. Pretty interesting.

Well my knives reside in the top of my Dresser drawer at the moment. I've placed fake security cameras near all my computer equipment and one in my room and one on my porch The would be perpetrator is warned at the front door with a scary sign of how many guns I have and how the police are called after they are shot full of buckshot and 9mm. I've had no solicitors or Jehovahs witnesses bother me in a long time as well. Honestly I'd like to set up a hidden room to store all my guns and knives, I might work on it after cleaning the basement out this year.
