HELP... Looking for a new gun

The new Staccato Cs are nice!

Also grabbed a 1301 Mod 2. Wasn’t a huge shotgun guy until I got my hands on this thing. It’s fast with the new Blink system and Aridus has some nice upgrades out for it

For work as an Arctic field geologist in Canada I specifically purchased a couple of firearms for personal safety:

The first was a S&W Model 686 revolver in .357 Magnum with a shrouded 6" barrel for black bears.

The second was a Winchester Model 1100 pump action in 12 Gauge with buck and slugs for Barrens
grizzly and polar bears. Yes I have tried rubber slugs. No the polar bears don't care. No you don't
need a shotgun to survive as you can nail a ptarmigan with your rock hammer. Tastes like chicken.
Another good shotgun option is the Remington 870 with iron rifle sights. Usually used for deer.

But at the end of the day my best investment for bear safety in the taiga and tundra was an old
farmer's goat bell I got for $5 at a yard sale. An empty tin can of pebbles works well, too.

If you’re a fan of classic pistols, the Sig 210 series is an absolute joy to use. This newer American manufactured model has been terrific. Honest Outlaw put close to 1100 rounds through this one before I took it off his hands several years ago, hard to say how many rounds have been put through it now. IMG_5918.jpeg

I suggest this Chiappa Rhino in .357

or maybe a Sig MCX-Spear in 6.8x51

All that REALLY matters is that you buy bought another gun.
God Bless America
cheers

Ruger Number 1, the commemorative edition that recently came out/
Had a 1976 Ruger No 1 with the commemorative roll mark on the barrel that read, “Made in the 200th Year of American Liberty”. I thought that was such a classy touch—wish I’d kept that rifle. Beautiful tack driver, as No 1’s so often are, in 7mm Rem Mag. Some regrets.

Have you seen the Genesis SBS with Hix Suppressor? Watch a bunch of videos on it and it looks dang fun. 5” barrel semi auto 12 with a can

Radian Weapons has a killer sale on their website. It is rare that they go on sale but if you are in the market for a top-tier, tack-driver, AR-15 they are a very nice option. Usually $3100 but with the sale you can order one of their complete rifles for $2500. Sale price is also good on builder kits, uppers, etc.
