Help me choose my winning logo design! 2nd poll

Minimalist is classy. I think, if the mark is unique to you, there's no need to actually have your name printed in full on the blade. The mark will quickly come to be be associated with your work and thus, in my opinion, more than sufficient as a way to "sign your name" on your knife.

Having said all of that Linus should pick the logo he likes since it’s his business, his reputation & he has to live with it.

Shouldn’t it be Linus’ Knives?

Grammatically correct is Linus's Knives

Both are grammatically correct. It's really a matter of preference.

Whatever you choose, I wish you success!

Personally I think the first logo looks too much like "4K" as in video and TV. It's possible people not familiar with your business will miss interpret it

As seen on TV, the 4K knife! Hi! Billy Mays here. Is cutting food too difficult for you? You need the 4K knife.....

I vote for #3. But I see no reason you can't switch between #3 & #4 depending on spacing and room on your materials. Shirts can use #4 while a box can use #3. Depending on if you have vertical or horizontal space

So say a fat spider. Or a butterfly. Would become iconic to the knife?

The only thing you might stumble across is a google search for the brand.

But you can do images now.

Exactly.

Anyway thinking about it some more, the first is close to perfect. I think there should be a little more separation between the L and K to prevent it from being mistaken for "4K" because it kinda does look like that.

EDIT: Nevermind it was mentioned already

Isn't it supposed to be Linus' instead of Linus's?
Not native english speaker just curious.

I'm going to disagree with my friend David and say that it is important to have your name on the knife. Look at the Bernard Levine's Knife Collecting & Identification forum and see how many posts are along the lines of "Who is this maker?".

Regarding iconic maker's marks, you will notice that both brands mentioned also have their name on the blade.

Of course, all this is just my opinion and you should do what you are comfortable with.

The fat spider & butterfly are great examples.
One references the name of the company & the other the company’s product.
Both have the company name (discretely) on the knife.
Neither use the word knife.

When evaluating a logo, the graphic should be viewed alone, with the business name in mind.

I sincerely want Linus to make an informed choice that he’ll be happy with for a long time to come.

Rebranding is one thing for a well established mark like Formula 1 or Toyota, but for startups it can reduce confidence and recognition.

This guy sold a bunch of knives and then the company , which still uses his name !

The logo has changed . Hardly anyone even noticed .

I just took a photo of a halfbreed blades logo and tried to image search.(see if I can find the knife off just the logo) And it didn't match.

So if that is important.

Otherwise the logo itself is a good example of a pretty obscure logo.

(OK. So why isn't there an app for this?)

Guess what the first thing first thing I'd do is if I owned that.

All wrong. I would watch my inbox for the order confirmation. ;)

But what I am getting at, is I hate a billboard on a knife (i.e. I would refinish the blade to a satin sans billboard). It's why my own maker's mark is minimalist, but also unmistakably mine, even though it only has my first initial.
