Help me spend $1000

Hard to beat a large Inkosi, but you might not care for the later lockup. Sure is smooth and absolutely no lock stick due to the ceramic ball detent. Great warranty and spa service.

Since you are being such an honest and wonderful seller, I'll just put the 'G' note in an envelope and get that right out to you!
Posting up your glowing feedback immediately!
Thanks again!

Finally. This was has been lingering in "Custom Knives For Sale By Individuals" for weeks!

Since you're paying F&F I'll be sure to rip you off. Thanks for the easy sale!

Lol about the Endura.

I like titanium, stonewashed blades, pointier blades, 3.5 inch blade length, not a fan of late lockup frame locks.

Even though the Lockup on CRKs appears late it will pretty much last a life time due to the carburized lockbar on the Sebenzas and the ceramic ball on the others. Also because of the geometry of the ball the lockup is actually earlier than it appears.

One Hinderer or CRK and a couple ZT's.
USA Made Blades has some killer anodized ZT's, Hinderer's and one CRK, if you're into that sort of thing.

Even though you think 500+ is diminishing returns - I'd seriously be looking at a Thorburn. They are great value for the $ spent.

Other than that can't go wrong with the classics from hinderer, strider, and crk.

Great ideas guys. You are the best. Lots to think about. Gotta look some of those up. I will be posting a pic whenever I get what I get.

If you're patient, go custom. Got me a nice Smock and a K'roo, (another in the works) and get exactly what you want. If you can't wait 6months to a year, I really like my Brous Bionic xl, and that'll leave a lot left left over for some more shopping!

You'd be crazy if you didn't buy a Rockstead:cool:

Your idea of Sebbie or XM-18 is a good one. Had multiples of each and sold the Hinderers.
I am carrying a large Sebbie with my favorite plain titanium grips. I've had many of the other "designs" of CRK and always keep coming back to the plain slabs. I will suggest buying a "line-new" from the Exchange. Try if; if you don't like it, you will get most (if not all) of your money back with a resale.

Hmm. Easy: my cancer medication is $12,000.00 for 60 tablets, or $200 per tablet. Buy me 5 tablets, or 2-1/2 days of medication.

Thank you. Do you need the number to the specialty pharmacy, or do you have it handy? See your messages for my shipping information.

Kindest regards,

RLW

I kid, I kid. I have not been in the same room as one, but do the Rockstead. Gorgeous.

CRK and Hinderer are great choices, I'd say since you mentioned it in the op, go that route. And if those don't float your boat, at least you've tried them on, and you can move on to option 3 having checked out two of the best in the biz.

Go for a custom, if you know exactly what you like. I am waiting for my first custom, of which base charge was $500. It will be around $600 total at the end.
If not, and if you like a robust knife, I recommend you to look at Umnumzaan.

Where are you located? Perhaps you could find a local member that would let you get a feel for both knives, so to speak.
If not, definitely purchase off the Exchange; as you will minimize your loss if you decide one isn't for you. It took me three CRK purchases to get one I could live with... and all it ended up costing me for the first two was a nominal rental fee (otherwise known as shipping and PayPal costs when I sold them).
If you're a ZT fan, and you've liked the Hinderer collabs, you'll like the Hinderer... but you may find yourself feeling that the ZT versions are a better value. (You may have seen comments posted that ZT does Hinderer better than Hinderer.) I sort of got that; but, at the same time, my XM18 was instantly comfortable - like going home & running into an old friend.
There are also plenty of other options to consider - Strider, Southard, Olamic, Begg Steelcraft, etc. Figure out what appeals to you, and give it a shot.

(I used to dislike the look of Striders... then one day, I found myself thinking that the odd shaped handle might actually be comfortable. Knowing how picky I am about hand feel, I waited for an SNG CC to pop up - and I loved it immediately.)

3 words...Randall Made Knives

I was gonna mention Randall. Do some homework, and you can find them brand new and at catalog price from authorized dealers. Also...the large Inkosi would be on my list to get. Those two would be about a grand. Good luck, and post what you score.

For $1000 , I'd be tempted to check out Rockstead.

Or I'd buy two of every Spyderco Military currently in production that I don't have yet.
