This will also be my first flipper . ( The Kershaw Leek thought I've owned for years doesn't really count as it is too small .) I have wanted to buy a ZT for some time now but I have not had the chance to handle one. ( Does anyone know if KnifeCenter has a storefront that I could visit ? ) I would like to buy a decent model - probably with carbon fiber or G-10 handles. I don't want a knife too big like the 0350 but not too small like the Leek. A mid-sized knife that carries well in the pocket would be best. Maybe the 0566 or 0562 ?

Is there a model highly recommended by most ZT aficionados? Is there a knife that would be essential to acquire ?

Thanks in advance !

The 0562 is an amazing knife, and comes in both of your preferred scale options.

The ergonomics are superb, the aesthetics are great, the clip is among the best I've used, and the whole knife is just impeccably designed. It's substantial, but not a boat anchor; it feels like the right size for what it wants to be.

562CF......all around excellence!!
If you check out USAmadeblade, you'll find them anodized for no extra charge! I bought 3 ZTs from Scott and was blown away with the service.....and the anodizing!!
Good luck!
Joe

566 is medium size but can handle any task, the 562 is a little big if you have experience with medium folders, I would choose the zt 566

Pic of 2 of mine, 562, middle and 452. Both anodized by USAmadeblade.
Great knives!

the 0562, 0566 both in cf and the rexford 0801, i own and got them at usamadeblade, excellent knives and you will not be dis-appointed with any ZT. they all carry well and are great hard use knives. do not be afraid to take the plunge, it will not be ur last ZT...

Yeah , the 0562 has got my attention. What is the difference between the KVT ball-bearing opening of this knife vs. assisted opening of other ZT knives ? Thanks.

It's closer to the size you are familiar with. If the 0350 is too big than I'm sure the 0562 is as well.

BTW :

I mostly carry Spyderco knives at the moment such as a Manix 2 , Manix 2 XL , PM2 and a Delica . The only flipper that I own is a Kershaw Leek , although it is kind of on the small side.

Yeah , the 0350 is kind of wide ... ( I held it at a gun show a few years ago. I wasn't as thrilled with it in my hand, although they are big.) I really need to handled these knives side by side in order to get an idea .

I have a 350 and after a while I forgot about the weight. Whatever you end up getting, it's a ZT so you'll probably be happy!

I carry a Manix 2XL while at my cabin in the woods. It is a long knife but not too wide. And surprisingly light for an ' XL ' knife. I wonder how it compares with carrying a 0350 ?

These are my only two ZTs, the 0770CF and the 0566, both with Elmax.

I prefer the blade shape on the 0770CF and it is light and flat. The handle is more ergonomic and hand-filling on the 0566. The 0566 is heavier and feels a bit more ruggedly constructed.

I like and carry both of them as the mood strikes me. Either of those, or if you want something a little bigger, the 0562CF, would be good choices.

I'm in the same boat, I don't mind a knife with some weight to it. But looking to purchase my 1st ZT, looking hard at 0220 and 0562, also like 0909 but think I've eliminated it as I don't need something that heavy duty.
