Help Support BladeForums.com - Auctions & Donations

Well, we'll auction off whatever you guys want to donate, it's the thought that counts more than the item.

As I mentioned in the previous thread on this subject, I'll donate a nature photography print (click on my signature to see the sort of stuff I'm talking about) if you are accepting non-knife donations.

This is a good idea and I will support this also. BF and it's members are worth my support.

Limiting the donations to knives is.... limiting. I am DEAD certain BF members have 'stuff' that is valuable and would be willing to auction it off with proceeds to benefit the site. Not just all knives.

Starting an auction forum for a something like this has been done successfully in a number of forums. I would suggest to do the same? I'd be all over that. Why ebay?

Just thinking out loud here. I want this to work for you also.

Coop
I agree
Ebay is OK too but you need links here also in all the forums
I just found this:rolleyes:

getting the word out to dummies like me is key..send out a special bulletin email to all members, so they will be apprized to this without them having to subscribe to a bunch of links..say to one thread, that says it all. with links to the auction/S

you may have to put rider in the rules and regs that all members and users of these forums are agreeing to except emails like these and that would take care of Spam issues.. then make sure they are sent one by one some how to keep the hosts from black listing emails from BFC
I'm sure you know all this just a thought to get the word out to the sleepy..

Not sure how I missed this thread, but I'm down. I'm busting rear for Blade, but I'll get something put together. Is there a deadline?

The deadline is: whenever you feel like. We've received two donations today and will be listing them soon.

I'll be listing them across the sight. So far we've received stuff from:
Ron Flaherty
Thomas McCallum
Steve Rice
Himilayan Imports
and have verbal promises for more on the way from many other people including some donors who'd like to keep it anonymous.

Spark, I would like to donate:

1- KMG-PL Belt Grinder from Beaumont Metal Works, Ltd.

They are expensive and difficult to ship due to the size and weight. So, if I may, let me ship it directly to the winning bidder for free. (USA lower 48 states only). Run the auction, collect the payment....and I'll send it directly to the winner.

I'll post a note over in "shop talk" to stir the pot.

Sincerely,
Rob

I'm not sure yet, I'm still researching to see what I have to do to set up on there and a couple other things.

FWIW - today we received 4 knives from Swamp Rat, which brings the donations to: a bunch! Thanks guys, auctions will be starting at the end of the week I hope.

Check this bad boy out! It features an Olive Drab blade with Green Linen micarta handles and comes with a Spec Ops Combat Master sheath!!!

YOWZA!!!

Here's a very cool Busse Custom Shop Steel Heart E Variant. It features a 7.5" gently recurved blade with a double cut non-glare finish. The overall leangth is 13.25". The handles are hand shaped from Busse Combat's exclusive Snake Skin canvas micarta.

This blade is on its way to Spark for the BLADEFORUMS benefit auction!!!

Good luck to all who choose to participate in these auctions and seize the opportunity to support Bladeforums in the process!

I'll tell you guys something - to see the generosity represented here makes me proud to own Busse, Swamp Rats and HI blades...

I am happy to be a contributor since my first or second knife deal here... and I seriously suffered during the *outage that shall remain scorned*...

Thank you all for helping us feed our interest in fine blades of all types and makes.

I'll be bidding, hopefully winning.

Best regards,

John
