Steel testing complete! Working towards getting the project rolling through the factory.
Nice! Just got the news letter. Looks like it's going to be 20cv!!sweet

Any ideas on the Rockwell they will use? Most manufacturers do 20cv at 62hrc. I don't mind what it is, just would like to know.

I checked in with Buck on this one. The Rockwell is 60-62.

The email skblades sent out to those that subscribe to their site said cpm20cv.
Thank you. I found the email now.

I have a question for SK about the Natural Linen Micarta Handles. Will they be buffed smooth or have a little texture for grip?

They will be taken straight off the CNC and produced, so there will be texture on them.

I didn't realize there was a mailing list until after hearing people talk about your recent newsletter. I subscribed, but I missed those messages :(

I like it Stephen! Put me down for one. I'm not a fan of the darker mock-up of natural canvas in this thread. The example you're disappointed with is exactly how I envisioned this would look. Keep in mind that the unfished fibers will darken slightly over time. It's a winner!

If you folks don't know what I'm talking about, check your email.

I agree Stephen, the mustard yellow just doesn't do it for me, dark gray or even black micarta would look so much better.

Personally I like the roughness and grippiness of unfinished micarta, I make my own sometimes and it works great, remains grippy even when wet or oily, and if it gets too dirty you can even wash it and it will return to it's original state.

There's a Buck vendor that sells a version of the Spitfire in S30V with dark micarta scales and it looks great, i'd buy one if I didn't already have my badass SKblades Spitfire in black aluminum and S35VN. ;)
