Personally I would like to see a darker micarta like in the rendering, but still unfinished. More of a brownish or black micarta, not a fan of the mustard yellow micarta.

I just saw the email in my inbox. Love it. Love the mustard yellow micarta and I personally would not mind if it has the micarta feel/texture. I've never been a huge fan of the Vantage even though a lot of you guys are. My issue was always that the scales felt too smooth and slippery. Keep the yellow and I may just order one. Brown(natural) makes it look too much like the rosewood version.

Before you all say “yuck... mustard”, you should look throughout BF for natural Micarta knives and how they either age on their own with the oils in your palms or those that force color with things like bees wax, wd40, shoe polish, and mineral oil.

It’s like the carbon steel of handle material; let it patina, force a patina, or keep it clean.

Also underwhelmed. I have a couple vanguard's can't say I am huge fan . I can see the want to do something different but I think this missed the boat.
I like the original color that you were going for. But I different design , maybe something like checkering .like they did on the wood b&c handles.

I'm not necessarily a fan, but isn't that what natural micarta looks like? Sort of a yellowish brown? I like the look of no plastic border!

Agreed. Loved the photos. Couldn't figure out why the "natural" micarta was so dark in the renderings.

I think it looks classy. It's certainly unique. Like others have mentioned, it will darken with use. I like that.

I like the color and prefer the rough finish. It’s only going to get darker as time goes on anyway. I don’t like it when micarta is polished so much it just looks like plastic.

I'm not put off by the color. And like others have said, I like that each one will develop a natural "patina" on the scales from use. But I can see how a darker color might sell better for you.

THOUGHTS:

Notice the knife Makael posted. It is polished. I like the polished look myself, though not sure how it would complement the stone washed blade. What do you all think? It would add cost to the final product to polish.

Second sample looks MUCH better, imo. Also, I'd prefer it to not be polished.

That looks great. I could live with the more yellow natural first sample but this one looks much better.
