I like the rough finish and actually prefer the more yellow/orange tint I have seen in most natural micarta. With that said the brown version looks good too.

Leave handle/blade finish on the Satin(stonewash) side!! Polishing the handle is kinda like putting chrome wheels on a flat black car/truck!! JMO!!! John;)

I don't think this is for me but once again I have really enjoyed having a small part in this process. I have great esteem for SK Blades as a result and I hope this sells like hotcakes!

If the natural looked like fake wood, what does this one look like?

I prefer the original “yellow”, but truth be told they’re both winners!

I agree. Don't polish.

Your email today said that there will be no Buck shield on the handle. Why is that? I would be disappointed to not have the Buck shield on it.

No serrations whatsoever IMHO.

Your email today also said that you have only seen pictures. I sure would want to wait until you get the actual proto in your hands. We've learned this lesson before with earlier mock ups of this Vantage product. ;)

Personally, I think this newer version is definitely better than the yellow version, but I still prefer the colors of the original mock up with the deeper brown coloring.

Once I see your pictures of the actual proto, colors, blade markings, and possible Buck shield (?), I'll know if this version is for me.

Thanks, Steve. We truly appreciate your love for Buck products and the offerings you orchestrate for our Buck community.

like both. kinda leaning towards the first yellowish one now...but ill buy either. as i really like 20cv steel.

I have had the same thought. I need to see the sample in person. I'll try to do that today.

Second version is *so much* better! And no polish, please.

Two final things for me:

--Any word on lightening the knife a bit by skeletonizing the liners, or using a different liner material (aluminum, titanium)? Even my 112 Ecolite from 20 years ago has the liners recessed from the blade slot a little to save weight.

--Bronze pivot washers instead of plastic?

So long as these have smooth flipping action, I will absolutely be in for one. I like the scales in either mustard color, normal or Dijon. Any clue on what the price will he for these?

Yes, I know exactly what it will be, however, I cannot post it here. :)

We technically could run the bronze washers, but Buck is telling me the action is not nearly as smooth. Other than that, this knife is pretty set. We'll have to look at the other stuff for the future. Also, this knife will clock in around 4oz with isn't too shabby.

Teflon washers work better than bronze phosphorous. In your mind Bronze phosphorus seems like a better choice.

Looks amazing! I'm a bit late on this probably, but what a great looking knife - well done folks!

In my humble opinion, I'd leave the micarta unpolished. It should earn a bit of a polish with use, or the owner could buff it a bit if he/she chooses.

Can you provide the pb washers for extra if someone wanted some? No biggie if not. I prefer the feel of pb over Teflon.
