i really like the raw micarta as looks in Maks pics......each one will be unique in coloring and depth from how its used or treated. im pretty exicted to see how bos heat treat of 20cv will do.

Just checked mine should be here tomorrow too  I sure will, not going to polish , but I will lightly sand and remove any sharp edges . Will probably make them a little darker too :D

This is a really cool knife. This is my first Vantage and I think I'm impressed. Also the scales are far better than I had anticipated looking at a few photo's here. I just might order another for the pile and rotate this one into the EDC mix. Honestly surprised. Good job Stephen.IMG_20180531_134303.jpg IMG_20180531_134242.jpg IMG_20180531_134519.jpg

Just picked up mine after work, I couldn’t be happier with the results! Both have great action and lockup. I don’t care about blade centering for the sake of cosmetics but both are dead center. Can’t wait to use and see how the color ages naturally. Thanks again Stephen for making this happen! :D

Mine came with no issues other than it was not quite shaving sharp; couple quick passes on the paper wheel with some 'cut & color' and she is shavin' sharp! I oiled the covers with some mineral oil and she looks as good as she cuts!

Eet weeil cut!

Never got a shipping notice but did get the knife today. Already oiled the scales. Really nice example of a Vantage. I would have preferred the original more yellow scale, but this one is cool too.

Got mine yesterday. I'm not a big fan of the brown Micarta, but I didn't buy it for the handle. I love the Vantage in S30V, so figured I'd be buying this for the steel more than anything.

The only thing I don't particularly like about the Vantage is the action, or lack thereof. I tried tuning it so it would flip properly, but once I got it to that point, it would rub the liners. Perhaps it will work in over time, but my S30V one never did.

The lockup on mine is pretty early, which I like so that it has room to wear in.

I have only one F&F criticism. If you didn't notice it in the first photo, this makes it more clear:

Otherwise, no complaints. It came hair-poppin' sharp! I think I'm going to break out the Lansky and polish the edge. I figure with this steel and a mirrored edge, it shouldn't need much maintenance considering what I use a pocket knife for.

I agree. It's almost like the geometry is different but maybe it needs some breath in.

It's a shame on the scale grind you received I would not want to go through the trouble to send it back :( but personally I would . I lucked out on F&F this time:) who ever put the edges on the knife I received was spot on , very even  not as sharp as I like but that was a easy fix. 20cv steel is what I was after too  I like the feel of Micarta . The color doesn't bother me .

I have found that if I just pretend the flipper tab is a gaurd and treat it like you can only open it via the thumb hole I am a lot more satisfied with Vantages in general. I have never had one that was a good flipper.

its truly a hit and miss. of the half dozen or so i have half arent so good. other half work well without slop needed in pivot to flip easily. doesnt bother me.

one of my favorites is a s30v pro version cant flip even a quarter open even with pivot loosened so blade is stuck on the liner. i just thumb oval hole it open and tend to use it more. since wear and tear cant hurt it.
