Tonights episode of Walking Dead= WOW!! Can't wait to see next week, but sad that it will be the last episode for a while.

Kinda random question:

I know a few of you (i think at least) take their dogs out on the trails with them. I've even seen some backpack type things on their pooches as well. I want to start taking my 5 month old Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix on the trails and even doing some overnights when she's ready.

Is she old enough? Tips? Advice? Gear?

Any input would be great.

Wow it took me half an hour to view this page....Wish these problems would get fixed

On another note while i waited i started a movie and so far its very good, i recommend it.... even though im only 40 minutes into it so far....

The name is "Olympus has fallen" with Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman.

Korea takes over the white house in 13 minutes............. A LOT OF ACTION!!!!

5 months is plenty old to start taking her with if she's well leash trained -- I wouldn't trust her off one yet.
you'll need to start taking her on walks to toughen up her feet -- and when you hit the trail, you'll need a first aid kit for her as well -- or train her to wear dog booties to protect her pads from sharp rocks and sticks.
if you wear her out halfway through a 5 mile loop, you get to carry her home -- or wait until she has a nap.
also - the doggy packsaddles have to wait until she's done growing or you can do serious damage to her spine.

I have been camping all my life, more than half of it i always had my dog with me. from a pup only 3 months old. The dog has more instinct and better survival skills than you (not a mark at you, i mean us as people) most likely. bring its food, water and a blanket..... worry about you more lmao.... She is ready.... Bring a good leash if needed/or around others.

If i see you beckerheads with your pups all sweater-ed up wearing fanny packs......

First i wont be able to stop laughing... or take you seriously.......

Then i will try my best and free the pup from such torture.... Since when were dogs born with a sweater, booties and a fanny pack ?.... whats next? a little purse to accessorise with? lmao..

I hear You can trade a beckerhead number for a PARIS HILTON limited edition pooch purse lmao.....

Man, the Ford Raptor is a good looking truck. Look at this idiot.

Takes a special sort of idiot to destroy a 50k truck, and film it, so your insurance can laugh at you then cancel your policy. :D

Can't say I will try flying with mine, just buy a small cessna.

Great, thats really useful input

She's pretty good about staying close and has behaved extroardinarily well so far during all her off-the-leash time on our walks.

Didn't even think of that as far as packs and spine health goes.

Thanks!

Thanks man, appreciate the input!

This was the type of info i was lookin for.

Anyone with anything to offer, please chime in as well!

oh, yeah - once she's done growing, she should be able to carry up to 20% of her weight in a properly fitted set of saddlebags -- if you've ever paid attention to the pics Psyop shows of his dog Fritz, he adds a couple gallons of water and some food to the pack to help slow the dog down. (2 gallons of water = 16 pounds, add some food and a bowl and it's easy to hit 20 pounds)

Gerard Butler is the MAN!

This movie is excellent! good actors and loads of action!

......"My advice? you save the last bullet for yourself....... Cause if you dont im going to stick my knife thru your brain"

......"But dont worry..... im going to leek the photos of your body to the press.... because i know you like that kinda $hit"......

It took me two hours to get on here. This is getting old. Why doesnt Kabar have their own forum on their website like certain other knife companies do?

Hey Mauser, was that Steve's Snappin' Dogs? I only know of that one, and a place over on Broadway...but dammit man, I loves me some hot dogs! Btw...love that you slipped your '14 in there for Becker content! :)

No its called Billy's Gourmet Hotdogs. Its downtown near 25th and Larimer. They have a lot of crazy dogs and cheese fries there. One popular weird one is pesto sauce blue cheese fries. Sounded gross to me but was pretty good. And they saw me taking pictures of the food and knife and didn't give me a crazy look like most places. :D I just googled steves snapping dogs, how have I not heard of this place? I need to go check that out.

i leave you with this homework: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/design_hell

study hard

Hahaha!!! That comic made me laugh my a** off. The reason I was asking about jQuery and javascript is I actually just finished a site for an inlaw, a resume site. Just for practice and fun my dad had me use javascript to showhide between the main page and an iframe we used to insert the 'client's' resume. I believe my dad even told me he normally would have used jQuery but he wanted me to learn the javascript way first. Just wondering if we had any hardcore web designers on here who would know how common the need of this code is. I will want to learn it either way.

Your comic hit home with me because this 'client' isn't actually even paying me I made the site as a favor. First I did the color scheme and he said it should be less dark and more of a royal blue, I made it royal blue like he asked against my advisement and it looked like s*** with the pictures inserted, so we changed it back. Then I finally finished his site and he emails me that he was thinking about adding one more tab with one more page, I said sure that's pretty easy. Then he sends me a big word document with logos and multiple sections and says 'I want you to make each section within the document it's own page that links from the first tab with a company logo as the button for each page link". So you want me to do many many more hours of work to your free site instead of the couple hours I said I had time for? Told him sorry, got other projects. Taking over a paying account next week actually.

So paypal is raising all the selling and listing fees in may. Paypal sucks.....

That is all.

Mornin' folks!! Just won an auction on Gunbroker for the Sig 1911 that I wanted. Saved darn near $200 over what it would have cost me to get the one I was planning on purchasing locally, but had been sold before I could buy it.

Ha, I fell in love with the darn thing and just had to have one. I suppose a CBOB will pop up somewhere now and I won't be able to fork over the $$$ for it. Saw one on gunbroker the other day for $1,900, but that was just a bit to much to pay. I'd probably be willing to go $1,400-1,500 on one.
