Hahaha!!! That comic made me laugh my a** off. The reason I was asking about jQuery and javascript is I actually just finished a site for an inlaw, a resume site. Just for practice and fun my dad had me use javascript to showhide between the main page and an iframe we used to insert the 'client's' resume. I believe my dad even told me he normally would have used jQuery but he wanted me to learn the javascript way first. Just wondering if we had any hardcore web designers on here who would know how common the need of this code is. I will want to learn it either way.
Your comic hit home with me because this 'client' isn't actually even paying me I made the site as a favor. First I did the color scheme and he said it should be less dark and more of a royal blue, I made it royal blue like he asked against my advisement and it looked like s*** with the pictures inserted, so we changed it back. Then I finally finished his site and he emails me that he was thinking about adding one more tab with one more page, I said sure that's pretty easy. Then he sends me a big word document with logos and multiple sections and says 'I want you to make each section within the document it's own page that links from the first tab with a company logo as the button for each page link". So you want me to do many many more hours of work to your free site instead of the couple hours I said I had time for? Told him sorry, got other projects. Taking over a paying account next week actually.
the jQuery for something like that is $("#id of div").toggle();
yup. oatmeal rocks. see the other comics.
sometimes you just have to fire mittens, and move on
