Here's The BOSS HG55 LE. . . . YOWZA!!!!!

Wow that is a gorgeous knife, I really like the looks of it. I cant wait to see what she'll cost.

so the series of ribs/channels running perpendicular to the edge, as shown in the previously released photo, are an option or were dropped from production or ... ?

:eek:Holy Crap!! That thing is like a Bacon Burner on a Porkalicious menue!!!!:p:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Hey - there are copyright laws ya know!!;)

But I agree - this one is really growing on me!! BRING IT!!!

I've done mods where I've rounded the choil, and sharpened it without rounding it, both with the same results. if I have to place my cut, meaning aim a specific portion of the edge at the medium being cut, it's not okay. I want to be able to put my index knuckle on the object, push/pull and have it cut every single time, whether I'm looking at it or not. in a fighter, I need to be able to work with it blind and know that it will work, wherever my cut lands, every single time.

I see what you mean now, and I agree that this knife would be even better without the choil. I can't see myself using the choil on a knife this size anyway.

Edit: I would like it even more if it looked something like this:

once you take out the choil, the majority of busse designs don't look like a busse designs anymore. obviously the handles and most of the blade are the same, but it becomes less recognizably "busse".

Very strong fighter look on this one Jerry. Not so much pokey as slashy i'm thinking. (Sorry for the technical jargon there:D)

As for the grooves I'm hoping they are on the CG version.

Any chance of a pic of the HG55 next to another blade? Still trying to imagine how big the blade really is.

Im with you Ikarus. I am really starting to hate the choils on Busses. They really take away from the functionality of the blade in my opinion. I wish Jerry would do some designs without choils. The new offering from Swamp Rat looks pretty good though.

I guess I can see how you say that on a pure chopper, but, for the shorter blades like the SFNO, the choil and thumb notch are perfect for choking up on the blade, ie. wrapping your thumb and index finger around the blade and gripping the knife right in the middle. it is so balanced and lets use a big blade like the SFNO for delicate scraping, skinning work, etc... when you hold it like that, it is really balanced, and your hand does not get tired from handling such a blade heavy knife.... So, personally, I think the choil is very useful on Medium size blades....., but, I can see how they are basically useless on small blades and big choppers....

Thats a hollow grind with a convexed edge right?

Nice knife, but not my cup of tea.

I understand that choils/'talon holes' are part of the busse trademark, but for me functionality always comes before looks.

Still waiting for that mini busmuck! bring it Jerry!

It looks like those are going to only be on the CG version.

The double cut looks pretty good on the ribs .. Jerry, we need a full pic of that doublecut / tan !!
