I took this hiking out at McKinney Falls. One of the best I think I took. It is my background on my comp. When work starts to blow, I just shut everything off and kick back and stare at it for a few and relax.

i took this picture on my family trip to the Galapagos Islands off the Coast of Ecuador this summer. i chose it because it showed a new born sea lion pup which i think is the cutest animal i ever saw

:eek:man, she is gonna have her work cut out for her.......you guys have some great pictures......:o

Thank you for the contest. For clarification, should we each post just a single shot, or can we post a few to choose from?

Thanks, again.

In all honesty, could you post a single shot and say it is your favorite?
I've seen a lot of your pics and I can't pick a favorite.

Here are some bobcat kittens I saw in the forest behind my house last week. I chose the picture because they are a rare sight and hey, who can resist kittens? :D

Thanks for the contest! That looks like a real nice 'hawk.

I doubt I stand much of a chance against the likes of norcal anyway, so I'm going to give you three to choose from here. These are a few of my favorite shots from the past year.

Bridgedirtroad2.jpg

This one was taken with a Canon Powershot A560, out at the far end of our road, where it turns to dirt. This plank bridge has been over the creek there for probably 75+ years.

Grasshopper8-small.jpg

I can never resist a macro shot with good color. They're overdone, but they're my weakness. :D (same camera)

mareatfence1.jpg

This was taken with my new Nikon D40 DSLR with 55-200mm VR lens. The mare loved the attention.

How's that for variety? All it needs is a good wide angle landscape shot, something I have too few of.

Here's one that I took in a wood that I hike a few times a week.

I love the woods when the fog is in. Gives everything a ghostly appearance.

I am going to post my picture(s) this very same anternoon as soon as I get home. Anytime I see your pictures I swear I need to get a better camera... mine is just not up to the task.

First off, congrats on 3K!

This is a picture of a section of the Menominee River between Wisconsin and the Michigan's Upper Peninsula, called Pemene Falls. This is the area where I first started hunting.

I had some B&W film in the camera on this trip, I think it was February or March.

Hope it comes out okay, it is a scan of the picture, and I had to reduce the resolution some to keep the file size down.

I like what you did with the hawk, I think you mentioned in another post, but could you detail the mods? I really like the cord wrap, is it epoxied?

Thanks JW should be fun and some great pics, and Congrats on 3K!

Last year I moved from Illinois to Oregon and on the drive across the country
we decided to camp-out and see as many sites as we could, Yellowstone, Medicine Bow,
and many others, here the views were amazing and so beautiful;

the "Grand Tetons"

every mile they got bigger and bigger, it was such a beautiful day!

and here's were we camped near the GT a place called "Red Hill"

we camped right next to that stream, I miss the sound!

This is my favorite spot on the planet. My wife and I discovered this private section of beach along the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore. We've been coming back to this spot for many years. I first brought her here after we had been dating only a couple of months. If you look closely, you can make out the Manitou Islands in the distance. On many a visit we have been the only soles on a section of beach that extends for miles in either direction. I chose this photo for it's importance to us as a couple, because it is with my wife that I have enjoyed so many outdoor adventures.
