here's what we deal with on a daily basis

He wasn't mocking a customer. He was criticizing a whiner, but he didn't identify the person to hold him up to ridicule.

I spent a career in Postal Service management. I got to listen to a lot of complaints, some justified, some not. It didn't seem to matter how justified they were, some people were simply obnoxious. We learn to put up with them, but there comes a time when you have to say, I've done all I can for you, goodbye.

Jeff,

time and time again, my friends, co-workers, and people I have met ask me about RAT Cutlery, and why I am insist that RC is "the standard" to compare other companies too. Simple answer is time and time again, you prove yourself with excellent products and customer service.

But just as you risk getting bitten by an Izula when entering the jungle, being "The Jeff Randall" of RAT, you are going to have to deal with folks who just don't get it. Personally, I'd rather deal with the Izula..... :)

When you get emails like that, take a deep breath, and remember, for every one of them you have to deal with, there are dozens of us out here that are enjoying and using your products without a single complaint, and we continue to buy and use your products BECAUSE of the way you do business.

His last e-mail was a bit weird......

Watch out Jeff, he's "reserving the other thing for later".....

Cant understand how a person could be such a jackass. Did he not have parents good enough to tell him when to shut the **** up, or is he one of the new 2010 model idiots. Somebody please get Jeff a drink...I know I'd need one after that.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one scratching my head over that and doing a "WTF:confused: - this could get ugly real fast" thing to myself...

blake

Jeff you did everything that you could of possibly done to inform him of the situation. I've been in sales and management for quite a while and we all run into prople that you cannot please no matter what you do for them. If you would of done what he asked, I guarantee you he would of wanted something more and then would of been pissed about that. You did the right thing!!!

I feel ya Jeff. Some days I check my e-mail, hang my head, and just walk away. I deal with some of the coolest people on the web, and some that make my brain hurt just trying to comprehend what they want. The latter are usually the ones I have to trade emails with forever, and end up backing out anyway. If I had to deal with the volume you guys get, there wouldn't be enough aspirin in the world.

So he wanted a replacement for his RAT Fire Kit or the one that comes with the Izula survival kit?

The guys email gave me brain tumors to read

Guy is a jerk but I would like to see replacement rods one day. Being able to practice with my RAT is high on my list so mine may wear down fast. In the event of a last ditch effort ill be throughly clued up on this firestarting

Sounded like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

My eyes were rolling towards the back of my head...losing consciousness...ugh...

They should get over it (water under the bridge) and move along.

Actually, I thought this whole thing was pretty comical. Mike and I were going back and forth while all this was going on chuckling about it. The only part that pissed me of is he just didn't understand "no"

I spent the last 3 years on the window in a major city. I got excessed to automation. I'd rather go crippled on a DBCS than go back to days and customers. :)

If you look at recent threads you can narrow it down pretty fast. :)

Even if you have an idea who it is I would rather not get into that on this thread, thus the reason for removing his personal info from the emails.

He is a  contradicting bi-polar who doesn’t understand the meaning of "NO CAN DO". If you read his replies he is talking out of both sides of his mouth :foot:, his conflicting sentences oppose each other. Maybe he is looking for a hand out :barf:, but then again maybe he will just buy 3 or more:rolleyes:... I hate to use ths but :jerkit: is right on!

That hurt my head to read. Let me pour another drink and go turn over the meat on the grill..........Oh yeah...feelin better

I'm all for getting your point across, but feeling the need to post it on here (names removed or not) is a bit over the top. Posting of the emails was highly un-necessary and potentially embarrassing for the one who sent them and nobody wants or deserves that. E-mails are sent to YOU and YOU only, and should be kept private, if he wanted everyone to know what he was saying, he would have asked it publicly on the forums. You obviously aren't working too awful hard if you have time to get on here and make fun of a customer/potential customer :p.

I just saw this as pointless, dealing with unhappy customers is nothing like what some people "have to deal with on a daily basis." Go fight fires, be a police officer, or fight for this country, and then we'll see where your opinion stands.
