here's what we deal with on a daily basis

I guess the one thing that bothers me the most nowadays is the fact that everyone believes we have to be a service nation indebted to our fellow man. Have you looked at your "fellow man" lately? Most of them wouldn't work in a pie factory, but they believe you owe them part of what you do. If someone is successful then they obviously owe part of their success to the "less fortunate." BULLSHIT! I hate moochers and looters. If it ever gets to where RAT cannot say exactly how they feel, or have to kiss their customer's ass, or have to be less-than-honorable or less-then straight-forward just to sell a knife that most folks don't need anyway, then we're done. Finished. RAT Cutlery will close it's doors and I'll go back to LE, telecom, ditch digging or cowboying...whatever it takes to make a living.....honorably.

Anyone with any sense could obviously see that the guy who emailed me was fighting to get a free rod. To hell with him. Anyone who sets out to give someone that much grief deserves to be exposed for what they are! Those here that don't like that need to find another forum to frequent because you won't like us too well. Just sayin' ;)

I know you're not looking for a pat on the back or a cookie, but this post alone will ensure that I will do business with you in the future. To often society wants us to pull our punches or sugar coat something. Tell it how it is some people will like it & some will not.

Wow talk about persistent... And the multiple times that they kept trying to get a freebie through sympathy, that's just pathetic.

I know you're not looking for a pat on the back or a cookie

 you know he's just looking for cookies...why even mention it?:p

jeff you just keep being it. it's what makes RAT so awesome. Some people might say you have a bad attitude but you can tell those folks to piss off :D

I think the lesson we all learned from this thread is that as much fun as it may be to call-out some idiot, all you really accomplished was to attract his equally idiotic ideological brethren.

Exactly. Live by the sword, die by the sword. We take full responsibility for our words and actions.

Right on.....

You deserve that right......Cause F&%K it, you earned it!!

Everybody who works and pays their own way has a right to bitch about the unfortunate aspects of their trade...... Just because you aint fighting fires, or serving your country means jack shit. This coming from a guy who is an Army veteran, works ambulance, and Fire, and whos father and grandfather are also combat vets, and retired Sherrif deputies.....

If you think we dont bitch just as much as anyone else at work you are wrong. Its called work for a reason.

Your company, your business formula, your subforum.

Anyone who dont like it knows how to log off.

I have learned the hard way in the last few years that people will do everything in their power to get something from you for free, and they will lead a life free from any guilt about what they have done. I have worked hard for my education, background, etc and people think my time is not money - the bills come in for me, just like they do for everyone else. I don't have time for people who don't want to pay for my services, and Jeff you don't either. Good on you.

The one thing that sets the RAT forum, BFs, outdoor crowd, survivalists and gun nuts apart from the rest of the world is most of the people involved with such activities are pretty much self-sufficient and believe you get what you work for. There's a sense of honor in working hard and being honest and not blaming others for their problems. If there is one thing I respect more than anything else, it's a man who accepts full responsibility for himself, and also realize that a man will always rise (or fall) to his own merits. Those kind of folks are RAT folks, IMO. I'm not saying that we shouldn't help others. Charity will always be needed in the world and will always be a good thing. But the mentality of self-sufficiency, accepting full responsibility for your actions and being able to freely rise to whatever level you care to work for in life is the one reason I frequent this forum of like-minded Individuals (with a capital I). And yes, that means calling out those who would rather mooch off others or attempt to make their life miserable. Hell, we argue and poke fun of each other amongst ourselves and it's a known fact if you have a soft shell around this place you won't stay long. That's the way we like it. Those who don't like our (or my) attitude, can simply leave. No one is holding therm here and no is twisting their arm making them buy RAT knives. We would MUCH rather sell to like-minded folks anyway. ;)
