HEST/F by Lionsteel

I think RYP addressed this in another thread or maybe this one. Once the knife get broken in very good then this issue goes away. They will also fix it if you want to send the knife in for warranty work. My LE is fine and doesn't do this at all. Overall, I think it's a great little knife and has had a few issues with the initial release, but I believe for their first folder to the dance it's pretty impressive.

We have looked at hundreds of knives and I do believe there may be a handful where the seating between the blade and the frame lock is not perfect. All the HEST/F's I have used have that wonderful snap and hard lockup but I have seen two so far where I am not happy with the mating between the top of the titanium allow and the back of the D2 blade. Those knifes also had some play which once again I don't want out there.

I am not happy with many frame locks during violent use so I added the Rotoblock to make absolutely sure the HEST/F builds confidence when deployed and used in extreme conditions.

So those people get brand new replacements. I want to thank those folks that bring any concerns to our attention. And as always we want you (and me) to be happy with your purchase.
 
I have seen people selling them for well over $200. I apologize for not making more but we wanted to get them right before they got big...

Kinda like raising kids.

Try cumberlandknifeworks.com that's where I got mine. Received it in two days. He had around 8 in stock but that was 2 weeks ago. Worth a try.

i beg of you....make the LE model a production model!!!!! plain black handle nothing on blade=WIN especially for a police EDC we like our knives black plain and tac looking i actually caught grief for carrying a sog trident folder because the clip said sog and it had a tigerstriped blade.. (i still carry it) but i do prefer plain knives let the quality and materials shine :)

thank you very much i was on the fence between these 2... smaller is better for my purpose... i am considering making the dpx hest my new EDC for carry on duty.. (right now its a Ritter grip and a SOG trident) ill give it the NYPD torture test lol.. trying to talk ryp into making more LE ones

Hmmmm, you are right. May be down for maintenance. Bill Horn is the owner and I know he also had them for sale on eBay. Try there, unless you already found one. Good luck
