Dear Sir:

I am new to this forum and the first thing that I have noticed is this sub-forum w/ various threads about your site.

In my humble opinion, your website is superb and I like the way you test those knives! I do not understand why some folks are just too hardnosed/critical on some things... Like a blockbuster movie, if you want to watch it, fine. If you don't, then go sit and watch a cartoon of your choice.:jerkit: What I don't understand is, you spend your own money, using your own methodology and sharing it with us. I don't see anything wrong with that! It is fine to offer some constructive criticism, but I have seen some posts ridiculing you or sometimes plainly insulting you which I believe is way out of line. Why don't those people do their own testing in the first place?

We are lucky to have someone like you generous enough to do the effort and share w/ us. I myself very much appreciate it.

By the way, would it be possible for you to test any of the Dark Ops knives? I would like to see how they will hold up. Maybe their folders in particular? Some folks might flame me for suggesting this manufacturer. But who cares? I am just curious about these knives and not sure if they will hold up through all the hype. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

More power to you and your awesome site!

The testing is ridiculed because he records no data. What good is running a test...if you have NO results to show besides a video feed? I love seeing knives being tested...with proper documentation.

Alot of people on here test knives, but they take the time to note the amount of force applied when bending a blade, how many bends it took to snap, etc. This information is useful!

"It broke when I bent it alot of times" - Is not useful whatesoever.

"I applied 50lbs of pressure to the blade, never exceeding a 90 degree bend, and it lasted 40 bends" - Useful information, as it gives you info that can be compared with other knives, etc.

I'm all for knife testing if it is done properly. Everyone knows you can break a blade if you try hard enough.

Thanks for Starting this thread and I'm glad you enjoy the site. I'm having fun doing this and I'm glad to see you are to.

I hope to test a Dark ops soon. As well as some folders as well.

You will get some heat for this thread. Stand tough brother.

lmao, I'm not flaming anyone. I just think it's kind of a waste of a knife, if you don't record any information. I wouldn't even call it a "test" if there is no factual data behind it. It's jsut videos of people breaking knives...for entertainment reasons I suppose.

Like what I said, you don't like it, so be it... If it is not useful to you, then do not utilize the site. Just give respect to everyone's existence. To each his own and in life, not everyone is the same and you cannot always get what you want. I mean, why whine if you cannot get your every desires in life... Just learn to live with it and stop being so critical.

Thanks Noss4! I guess I will get some heat on starting this thread but that is fine with me. Again, good luck and more power to you!

Btw, I like the costume! BIG fan of Jason and Freddy! I have shown my wife the video and she likes those costume. She said you got a great sense of humor!:D

Have you read all his threads?

Like I said, I'm not flaming on him. I watched his videos and was humored. But I think it's a shame no data was catalogued. And I would hate to see someone thinking they are providing useful/factual information to the knife community, when in reality it is jsut a video of someone breaking production blades and being humorous.

I'm sure if Noss4 had ANY doubts in the knives he tested, now he KNOWS there integrity. But it only goes as far as the person who broke them. Only he knows (if he can remember) how much force he applied to break each knife. To the rest of us...it is just entertainment. If that's all he was shooting for in the video tests...then he succeeded and I am happy that he is happy.

Glad to hear it. I'm working on the Cold Steel bushman spear test now. I should have it up by the end of the month. I hope to get most knives on my list done soon. I should have them online after the first.

Good you have some humor in you.:D  I like hearing that.

All you see is the knife breaking. Not what it takes to break it.

It is a video test what you see is what you get. I do record the information 1 hour of it.

I can't wait! Keep on keeping on brother! I hope you don't have a wife because if she ever finds out you are destroying those toys that you keep on buying, your couch will be your friend...:D :p

That Strider fixed blade sure held up! It looks like I made a great choice! I currently have an AR, GB, a couple of SnGs and a fixed blade Mk1A.

There is no way from watching the video on my computer I can tell exactly how much force you used, or what degree at which the knife finally snapped. I suppose I could try and count the number of bends you made...but that is quite tedious for the viewer.

I didn't watch every single video though, jsut the first 2 I think.

I do record the information 1 hour of it.

Correction. You record the "process".

It would be like a scientist filming an experiment, and submitting it to be viewed and analyzed....without including any of his findings or actual data. You will see alot of bubbling liquids and explosions and such...but it is all useless if there is no recorded data.

Why do you have to be so picky? In my opinion, you would see the results on the video - with your own eyes! And to me, that's more important than stuffing my brain w/ all the scientific crap. Let me give an example on the Strider test that he performed. I have watched every single video on that test and wouldn't you say that Strider is one tough knife??

To me, what's important are the RESULTS, RESULTS, RESULTS! When I bought my BMW, I did not care how or what scientific tests the engineer performed. I just know that it is a pleasure to drive and I know that it will last for a long long time. And I also based my results on the consumer's feedback who had their cars for several years. To me, you could not beat that, and that's all that matters to me instead of focusing on just scientific results alone.

The Strider is a tough SOB. It performed as it is advertised.

I'm not married. My girlfriend makes me sleep in the next city though.:D

We know this based on previous experiences with Strider knives, and the overwhelming amount of members here who vouch for them. So when Noss4 decided to share his videos...I was expecting MORE than what everyone else already knows and shares daily on the forums. Strider's are tough SOB's...this video proves nothing omre than what I already hear 10 times a day on the forum. I knew just as much before I saw the video, as I did after I watched it. That was my only point.

EDIT: Funny, we used the same phrase Noss4 :P At least we agree on this.

Some people care, others don't. My passion for knives (and cars, since you shared your opinion) jsut goes "deeper" I guess? I care VERY much HOW the blade was made, what materials it uses, how it performs against similiar materials, and what exactly it can be put through. The same goes for cars I like. I want to know EVERYTHING about the car before I lay money down on it. I want to know the detailed differences between every available engine option, how it compares to other similiarly priced models, etc. I'll research a car for several months before I decide if I even LIKE it or not, enough at least to go and test drive it and consider purchasing it.

Maybe the mods can do an ISP check and see if GunHand is noss4.

I wouldn't be surprised if noss4 and GunHand were already acquainted w/ each other before becoming all chummy-wummy in this little mutual admiration exercise.

I'd be pretty un-impressed, considering I tried very hard to give "no flames/no cursing" replies. Compared to the majority of the forum, I am a cuddly little cat.
