Hi Noss4!

Looks like Freddy showed up. So now we have Jason AND Freddy.

Agreed. These guys are buds beforehand, and this little display isn't fooling anybody.

Questions for noss4 and his friend: Why call them tests at all? Why not just call them "Knife Destruction Videos"?

I think that would get a lot of folks off your backs since one of the major sticking points for many people has to do with scientific testing.

This guy nothing but a troll looking for a fight!:thumbdn:

This thread has nothing to do with knife reviews and hopefully will be moved soon enough.

Rude...very rude... :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

I did not mean to cause some chaos... I thought I'd voice out my opinion... You have an opinion and I have mine... Can't we respect each other?? And now I am being insulted for starting this thread? I do not want to be chastised by anyone and you Rigson and Guyon should be calling yourselves a troll! Not me.

Rigson and Guyon - :jerkit: :jerkit:

Boy, the baiter is so darn innocent.
Definition of Baiting - On Internet forums, baiting is sometimes used in attempts to empty forums or reduce a forum's usage. This type of baiting is usually done to make the atmosphere of a forum appear unpleasant or to make forum owners, moderators and long-time users look foolish. A person using this kind of baiting may post comments to elicit rude responses from prominent members of a forum, thus making the responding member or members appear as trolls or flamers to bystanders. As a result, forum users in general may become disgusted and leave the forum.
Why start a new thread instead of adding your opinions to a previously posted threads? Perhaps one where noss4 tested a knife and was getting raved/flamed. In fact, why not just email your support directly to noss4. Oh yeah, you want to get flamed.

Maybe everyone should just start their own threads praising/roasting everyone here. What a great idea. We can have 80,000 threads with everyone's opinions of Cliff Stamp; and another 80,000 threads on everyone's opinions on noss4; and then another 80,000 threads on everyone's opinions of GunHand...it'd be great! Maybe the site administration will allow everyone to have their own sub-forums! Bladeforums Myspace. It'd be great!

BTW, you started this thread in Reviews....where is the knife you have reviewed in this thread? As is the purpose of the Reviews forum:

Knife Reviews & Testing The place to come for actual first hand information on specific knives and how they perform. Your own personal Consumer Reports of Knives.

The Brown-Nose forum is located in Community, in a sub-forum called Whine and Cheese.

If he want's to destroy knives thats fine with me! It does not bother me at all. This guy I work with has busted more knives & tools than him. Go at it..I will be watching!

I will always have folks on my back no matter what I call them. It's all part of the game.

If you don't like them then don't watch. It's always the same people as
yourself posting the same tired complaints.

If you don't like the threads/videos why do I always see you on these threads. Posting the same garbage over and over ?

If you want scientific testing then do it yourself.

Maybe the mods can do an ISP check and see if GunHand is noss4.

My money says Gunhand is aka Freddy Krueger in the vids. its cool though, everyone gets their opinion. just please Noss stop saying stuff like " who will survive and what will be left of them" it sounds like a bad add for Dark Ops. I still like the videos though! your a funny guy.
Not to mention the "oh my god, you must work for strider posts"

I always post on your threads because i too like to test knives, though totally different tests than you perform. I will say your tests certainly are entertaining, but talking smack to everyone who asks you a question isnt cool.

Darn, grow UP will ya? What a bunch of babies...

A test in inherently scientific. As you stated, you are not a scientist, you are not doing anything REMOTELY scientific, so stop calling them knife tests. Tests involve several variables, atleast one of them being controlled- your "tests" lack even that. The closest thing to a test that can be found in your videos is, "If I do stupid *stuff* that a knife wasn't meant to do, will it break?" Yet, it fails even there. There is a lack of controls, undetailed observations, and not even a real procedure.

*Personal attack*

Perhaps you could honor us with examples. Does Cliff Stamp meet your criteria?

I thought I'd atleast get partial benefit when you started wheezing while trying to cut cardboards... but my hopes that you'd succumb to cardiac arrest were slowly dashed, and I got bored watching a moron break nice toys.

Well put - if you're striving for the gutter.

You didn't seem to have any issues with using a maker/producer's personal information to threaten him. Besides, there's no need to be worried about your personal safety. No one thinks of you as anything more than full of it, annoying, and a pt- not worth the hassle (besides, I'm sure that some are still holding out on Darwin).

I do realize that this is neither W&C nor The Cove, so I'm going to have to tune it down and hope this thread gets moved. You saw what's been said, so by editing my previous post, I'm not hiding anything.

Your funny..... There was no threat in my email. funny, funny. This is what to expect from a 15 year old. You list this on your profile are you even allowed in here ?

There are several things to be considered before a test. What is the stated purpose of the knife? Just what exactly am I testing? How will I test that? How will I compare results? I'm sure that I missed a few important ones, but those are some basic ones that come to mind.

When looking at Noss4's tests, the knives all seem to be intended for combat use (outside of the bushman, which doesn't seem to have a very specific use). Just how is a combat knife supposed to be used? Is it meant to be a weapon (and if so, will it be used to slash, stab, throw, etc.), razor, a pickaxe, a shovel, a chisel, or how about a bit of each? From there, you create your criteria, your testing procedure, and your method of taking down results.

Sharpening and edge retention are important to any knife, so that would be something to test. You could achieve this test in several manners. Get the knife so that instead of cutting through a sheet of printer paper, it drags/tears through, from there, sharpen it until it shaves. You'll want to use a sharpener that is guided so that the results are generally controlled (there will be some human error), and you'll want to keep count. You can choose to check how sharp it is every so many passes (personal perogative). You can then see how may of some certain thing it can but before it loses it's edge. Make sure that the certain thing is the same for each knife.

Testing each other quality that you are trying to quantify works in a similar process.

As far as Cliff Stamp goes- I haven't followed any of his work. From what I've *heard* (which has been mixed) he uses quantitative data and repeated procedures, but doesn't take inteded use into account. Note, this is what I've head, so I don't have enough information to determine anything about it.

If you read, you would have seen that anyone 13 and older may join bladeforums.

I don't watch. As soon as you snapped a BK-9 in half, I stopped watching. Nothing remotely entertaining or informative in that maneuver. I haven't gone back for more.

You see me in these threads because you're not limiting your garbage to your website. You're bringing it into BF and trying to get your attention fix. I see your threads. I also see the ridicule you receive in so many other parts of the forum. And after a while, it just gets old.

Boys destroying toys is juvenile at best. "Hey, let's take a well-crafted blade, use it for tasks well-beyond intended purposes, bust the crap out of it, and bask in the glow of all the attention we'll receive." Doesn't that about sum up you and your chummy boy? At least Cliff Stamp knows his jargon...

One other thing to consider: 13-year-olds who think your BS is cool and go out to try it themselves. And then get hurt in the process.

Peter_E_Ryt;
Since you seem to know how to do it put you money where your mouth is and
do your own scientific test for us all to see. If you hate my methods then do it yourself. Or are you just a armchair quarterback ? It's easy for you to shoot your mouth off an be critical of me this takes no effort on your part.

I don't think you will be able to take the criticism. I can ,Cliff can but can you ?

So put your words into action and give us a test.
