Hi Noss4!

I don't watch. As soon as you snapped a BK-9 in half, I stopped watching. Nothing remotely entertaining or informative in that maneuver. I haven't gone back for more.

You see me in these threads because you're not limiting your garbage to your website. You're bringing it into BF and trying to get your attention fix. I see your threads. I also see the ridicule you receive in so many other parts of the forum. And after a while, it just gets old.

Boys destroying toys is juvenile at best. "Hey, let's take a well-crafted blade, use it for tasks well-beyond intended purposes, bust the crap out of it, and bask in the glow of all the attention we'll receive." Doesn't that about sum up you and your chummy boy? At least Cliff Stamp knows his jargon...

One other thing to consider: 13-year-olds who think your BS is cool and go out to try it themselves. And then get hurt in the process.

If it gets old to you why do you keep contributing to it ?

If enough folks see you for what you are, I hope the public ridicule will drive you away from BF. I plan to keep that dream alive.

noss4, reading comprehension is your friend. try rereading Guyon's post (you know, the one you just quoted) again. therein lies the answer to your question.

as for myself, the only reason I am even reading this thread is because I am bored. There I said it. And, when I am bored, it amuses me to watch as the immature and unknowing make fools of themselves.

If you haven't learned by now no public ridicule is going to drive me away.
your right this is a dream.

Spoken like a true Drama Queen. :D

noss4 has obviously been reading his copy of...

Noss4- I don't have money to burn at the moment. I have a car to pay for, insurance to pay, knives to buy (which will be treated with respect and used for their intended purposes), and the rest of life to save for. I also don't have a reason to test knives that I don't intend to own. The knives that I do own get used and are judged on their real life performance.

My money says Gunhand is aka Freddy Krueger in the vids. its cool though, everyone gets their opinion. just please Noss stop saying stuff like " who will survive and what will be left of them" it sounds like a bad add for Dark Ops. I still like the videos though! your a funny guy.
Not to mention the "oh my god, you must work for strider posts"

I always post on your threads because i too like to test knives, though totally different tests than you perform. I will say your tests certainly are entertaining, but talking smack to everyone who asks you a question isnt cool.

If people want to ask me questions this is fine. I try to answer all sensible ? But when I simply get attacked by name callers this is not cool. They don't like it when I fight back. I guess I'm not allowed to defend myself.

There are several things to be considered before a test. What is the stated purpose of the knife? Just what exactly am I testing? How will I test that? How will I compare results? I'm sure that I missed a few important ones, but those are some basic ones that come to mind.

When looking at Noss4's tests, the knives all seem to be intended for combat use (outside of the bushman, which doesn't seem to have a very specific use). Just how is a combat knife supposed to be used? Is it meant to be a weapon (and if so, will it be used to slash, stab, throw, etc.), razor, a pickaxe, a shovel, a chisel, or how about a bit of each? From there, you create your criteria, your testing procedure, and your method of taking down results.

Sharpening and edge retention are important to any knife, so that would be something to test. You could achieve this test in several manners. Get the knife so that instead of cutting through a sheet of printer paper, it drags/tears through, from there, sharpen it until it shaves. You'll want to use a sharpener that is guided so that the results are generally controlled (there will be some human error), and you'll want to keep count. You can choose to check how sharp it is every so many passes (personal perogative). You can then see how may of some certain thing it can but before it loses it's edge. Make sure that the certain thing is the same for each knife.

Testing each other quality that you are trying to quantify works in a similar process.

As far as Cliff Stamp goes- I haven't followed any of his work. From what I've *heard* (which has been mixed) he uses quantitative data and repeated procedures, but doesn't take inteded use into account. Note, this is what I've head, so I don't have enough information to determine anything about it.

Ah I see, he has just learned about the scientific method in grade 9 science class. Ah, the memories.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
Guyon, you are a real saint, there is a special place for you in heaven I am sure.

Liam- the scientific method has been taught since kindergarten. My 6 year old sister can explain how a test works. Ofcourse, my words means nothing, seeing as I'm younger than the vast majority here, right?:jerkit:

It's 10th grade by the way.

I'm heading back over to the Busse forum. Too much childs play over here. See you in a bit Guyon:D

Guys, while I understand the frustration on each side of this argument, this is the last thread I'm going to close (it's ceasing to serve any useful purpose at this point) ... next time around the personal attacks are going to get quick infractions or bannings.
