Hmmmmm.... Clever Knife Sayings?

"When you mess with me, you mess with my knife. When you mess with my knife, you mess with your life...." (sanitized since this isn't W&C).

Ha ha!
2 funny, I was actually thinking of posting "Sharp is Safe, Dull is Dangerous" yesterday!

Heard it from my wife the chef.... words to live by indeed  (kinda surprised no one threw it up here already!)

Probably the one that I like best...the old Croc Dundee, "That's not a knife..........now that's a knife!" So I may not have it quite right, but a classic.

WOW! LMAO..... How could that EVER be left out of a thread like this!!!
IMHO.... GREATEST KNIFE SAYING EVER!!!

The sharper your knife, the easier your life.
I think this one might be German, but I'm not completely sure about it.

I believe it was Al Capone who said something like......"Rush a gun, RUN from a knife."
I think that was Jimmy Hoffa.

Edit: Google search is inconclusive... Found references to both guys. I dunno.

'You're only as sharp as your knife.'

And (since - incredibly - nobody has yet posted it) 'Is that a knife?!' (You know the rest!)

I always like the knife quality statement.

"Buy a quality knife, only cry once."

It's something along those lines. Meaning, you cry about the price tag, but it never fails you or lets you down. As opposed to buying a cheap knife, but you always have problems with it, it breaks, you regret the purchase, etc.

Thanks for explaining that.

Good one and actually good advice, it was a quote from Jimmy Hoffa..same family though right! It's also a self defense mantra.

My Dad used to always say "a dull knife is a dangerous knife" for the user.

And one of my favorites, from Sal Glesser:
"We've built a few collector pieces but most Spydercos are hungry and like to eat. As mentioned, open, close, cut, clean, oil, cut, cut, cut... To a Spyderco, that is living. All of the effort that we put into designing and building the knife is found in using the knife; The horsepower in the steel, the edge, the ergos, sophisticated mechanisms, carefully chosen materials or custom made materials, history of and refinements to the design, etc. Letting it die in the box is to lose 75% of what we put into it."

Now, that's a freak'n quote.

"Gold is for the mistress, silver for the maid.
Copper for the craftsman, cunning at his trade.
'Good', said the baron, sitting in his hall, 'but iron, cold iron, is master of them all.'"
Rudyard Kipling
