HOG only speacial

This speacial Hog only SFNOLE is supposed to be a speacial Holiday offer for HOGS only, and I know I have never been to blade and shook the Bossmans hand but unless Hell freezes over I will be there in 09 to do just that. With that being said by Thursday at the rate new HOGS are coming aboard there will be twice as many HOGS as there is right now. I havent been around to long but the folks that frequent this place know who I am and I know who spends alot of their time here, but there are new HOGS coming aboard today that I have never seen here. WUWT. I really think it should be a lttle harder to become a HOG than just sending a e-mail and requesting to become one.
I am sure I will probably get some negative feedback from this post but you know what they say.

dude...I think that is what the old guard was saying when they let piglets like you and me in........and I'm glad they did!:D

Seems like some newbs we've never seen before becoming HOGs.. but it takes more than an email to make you one. Prepare for the bloodbath this Friday!!! :D:thumbup:

Well said. I don't feel right about being a HOG until an oinkfficial induction at Blade, and I'll be there unless hell freezes over as well. After the boss gave me the emergency induction in the original thread without me asking, the gates seemed to open up with folks sending e-mails asking to be a HOG too. But hey, makes it a party, right?

Well, who knows, maybe some of the inducted Bladeforums basic members we never see around here are stealth-hogs, keeping their collection and their activities in the shadows. They may be known only to the Busse team, and may not be very active on the net. I trust Busse team to properly vett prospective Hogs, they know what it takes better than anyone. Plus I can't imagine they're at all worried about selling all these LEs. If anything, maybe they're caught in the Holiday spirit and want to extend the bounty and good cheer. I'm sure there's folks who may not consider me eligible yet since I've only been around 6 months and haven't got to Blade, so I'm not going to pass judgment on others. I know it seems to us that dedicated Porkers should be active on the forum, but I know from the bali scene that some of the biggest players have very small and subtle forum presences, if at all.
 
Most of the people who post here arent real HOGs and most of the real HOGS dont even post on here.:cool:

Just remember on Friday...when you'all are curled up in the fetal position chanting "I'm a HOG , I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me"....

Well to be fair, the whole online induction thing started in Jan and Feb of this year, at the Busse crew's invitation, to coincide with the Hog only edition of the ASH 1. When the Boss man and Amy invite folks to send in emails applying for Hog-dom, don't expect the piglets not to take their chance at the trough! I think there are some folks, like me, who weren't active back then, and so didn't know about the invitation until it got re-posted recently. It seems OK to me, as long as the Busse team vetts properly according to their knowledge of what it takes to be a Hog. The Busse bug can bite fast and hard, and one might be so broke after a year that travel has become impossible :D. No seriously, making it to Blade is a luxury not all can afford. Cyber-Hogs still have a place at the table.
 
This raises an interesting question. Is what is good for Busse, good for the HOGS? Clearly Busse wins by expanding the ranks of the faithful, but is there room amongst the old HOGS for the up-and-coming "iHogs"?

We'll know after the Friday "Carnage at the Trough" who the real HOG's are. It ain't gonna be pretty! Stealth HOG's, Big HOG's, the tusks will flashing, the blood will flow, and the squeals and grunt will be heard 'round the world. Sounds like a party to me!
