I have 2 hogue deka gen 2s, i love the knives but i do not like their stock scales, or any of the Damascus g10 scales, have struggled to find a reasonable aftermarket scale. Know of any?

I don't know of anyone making scales for these. It seems strange to me that Hogue doesn't offer different scales options since another side of their business is doing exactly that for guns.

You could always mod the stock scales. G10 is easy to sand. Minor modifications can be handled between the coarse and fine sides of an emery board. (As with sanding many materials, take steps not to inhale the dust.) You can also dye G10 with the RIT for synthetics. There are videos on YouTube showing different methods. You could mess around with existing pattern or just dye it out with a dark enough color.

I think the new MagnaCut models are using some sort of polymer. I'm curious as to how it will feel.

I may try shaving and dying, i just cant believe no one is making scales for them, its a reasonably popular knife

They are a great knife; that just doesn'aftermarket... sell in quantities large enough to attract the aftermarket...

Their handgun grips are amazing, never tried their knives. I will say they have great customer service!
Seriously go get a deka gen 2, either blade model, its a fantastic knife. Not an axis lock fan but havent had an issue with mine. Hogue makes a lot of tactical automatic knives too, i hear they are great just a little too mall ninja ish for me

Pretty soon: they'll be known as a knife company... that also makes Pistol grips!
Their knives are THAT good!

I’m intrigued by them, I’m on a CPK kick so I’m gonna be tapped for a while.

It might be worth contacting Hogue and expressing interest. I know I did. I wouldn't count on results but sometimes, getting enough emails really makes a difference as companies consider new products. It takes all of a couple of minutes to write an email or whatever.

I had initially contacted Hogue about RSK scales. The person on the phone said it was the first time they heard that request. I mentioned that I had seen many people wanting scale options on the forums, etc. Since those people hadn't contacted Hogue directly, and Hogue apparently don't spend time scouring the web for mentions of their products, they didn't know it. (I'll certainly reach out again regarding Deka scales.)

Given my experience with their handgun grips, which come in different materials with all sorts of options, I'd love to see them offer some different knife scales. In the meantime, be sure to post any mods. I'd love to see how it shapes up.

Good idea, they offer pocket clip options and they will custom make grips for guns, so im sure they have the capability to. Even just a smooth g10 and maybe an aluminum scale would be great just any option besides ugly tie dye with gashes in it lol

The polymer grips on my MagnaCut Deka are pretty squishy so I've been looking for aftermarket options. These just came out, and I've got a set of the red/maroon scales on the way.

I tried to buy just some G-10 scales from Hogue, but they said scales from the G-10 version wouldn't fit on the polymer version.... Don't know if I believe that, every portion of the liner and hardware that I can compare on my two Gen 2s looks the same side by side.

Can they set them up for mounting the pocket clip on the show side?

It appears so! On their website you select "made to order (2 scale knives)", then select the material, then select Hogue Deka Gen 2, then there's options for right-hand-tip-up only or both sides. Note that they're only doing scales for the Gen 2 versions with polymer scales. The Gen 1 (G10) versions have different internals.
