Hogue EX-05 shot show 2016

That's so hard to believe that it's an Allen Elishewitz design. I owned a few of his customs years ago. Looking at that knife has me crapping coffee grounds.:eek:

Has anyone confirmed Allen designed this and its not just Hogue's attempt at an in house design?
 
Just picking up my Hogue EX01 makes me smile. Looking at the pictures of the EX-05 makes me nauseated.

I can see the utility of the blade shape however.
 
This is the kind of design that should stay in the custom world. It looks like a Brous Statement and a Hogue EXO4 wharnie had a baby, and instead of dropping it as a child, they threw it against a wall.
 
I think you guys are all too harsh. The knife will be fine if you just keep it closed all the time.
 
I'm really disappointed in Hogue. The machining and embedding of the bolster plates and lock mechanism on the EX-01 are, in my humble opinion, groundbreaking. To put a production facility this skilled to work producing this fantasy design is waste of their talents.

By the way, does anyone know who actually makes the knives for Hogue?

I think they've said the knives are made in-house. Which, considering the quality of their first offering, is pretty impressive.
 
And anyways, the knife market designed this monstrous thing. Compound grinds, flippers on literally everything..... live with it, folks. ;)
