Anyone know of a good way to restore faded wood? I kind of want to keep the natural wood look on the gables. You can see where it's been wet, and faded:

Happy forth of July everyone!! Be safe and have a great independence day!!! Today marks 3 years no alcohol for me as well.

A 3 year old little boy was just hit by a car in front of my house. The mother wasnt watching him and he walked into the street. The ambulance just took him to the hospital.

Smoke and prayers for the child, and the mother deserves her ass whooped. She never watches that boy, he has tried to follow me to get my daughter from school multiple times, while his mom talks on the phone and ignores him... he has also tried following my wife to her car, and he even tried to come in our house just a couple weeks ago.... Im so mad at that lady right now.

Congrats and happy 3rd birthday (if you view it in those terms)!

And prayers for the little boy in WW's neighborhood.

Smoke and prayers man! That isn't cool. That poor kid. How bad was it? Was he hit head on or glanced off? Or do you not know?

I've had one glass of wine in 14 years now, before then it was different in a bad way. Keep your sobriety with my blessing!

I pray that young lad has a talented guardian angel.

Prayers for the child headed his way. That sucks big time man.

On a lighter note, I kinda like this too:

That's terrible about the kid. I don't understand how a parent could be so negligent.

Dubs, you should paint that sucker camo.:D

Funny you should mention that. I was telling the wife I could paint the water tank dark green, and lay branches over it, and use them as stencils. It would actually look pretty cool, but the tank is galvanized. Less maintenance just leaving it as is.

yeah. But I think rather than only messing with colors, you might consider expanding the deck. Not much interior room, so extend your exterior living space.

Anyone know a good diet to lose and maintain weight? That's safe.

A little late for a response, but I highly recommend a low carbohydrate diet. (especially for men, they loose faster) I've been doing a ketogenic diet now for a couple of years. I'm healthier, stronger and lighter than I was when I was 17. I've lost about 30 lbs, I have 10 more to go till I'll be satisfied. You still have to keep an eye on your calories, but you feel very satisfied on this diet. It's a high fat, moderate protein, ultra low-carb lifestyle. I eat TONS of green veggies, all types of meat (fattier the better) and a few nuts here and there. Fixed my blood sugar problems too.

Also, Warrior, that cabin is sweet and I'm all kinds of jealous! Congrats man!

We did talk about enclosing the porch, for a screened place to dine. Also talked about going uphill a bit, between the cabin and outbuilding, and building a deck on the side of the hill. One cool thing is, if we do decide to add on, we could make another room to the side of it. Just wouldn't be able to park alongside it, but who cares.

I like the idea of a micro cabin. I've been talking about this for years. A small place encourages you to be outside more.

Thanks Cap'n, we're pretty stoked about it.

Never too late for a good response. I'd have a very hard time with low carb but I know it works. Did one like that a while back and lost substantial weight, im just too much of a sucker for bread.

And to everyone else commenting on sobriety, good on you guys. I quit drinking and more importantly drugs almost 18 months ago and couldn't be happier. That all took a huge toll on my life and am grateful for every day I have clean and sober.

I dont know how bad it was, i had some music playing inside the house, and didnt hear the ambulance sirens or anything.. But i noticed the lights flashing thru a window so i went outside and by that time the kid was already in the back of the ambulance... I asked my neighbor what happened and she told me the little boy that lived on the corner got hit by car, but she wasnt sure how bad it was either.

It was close to the corner, and the "car" that hit him had just turned onto the block so the driver probably wasnt going very fast, on the other hand the "car" was a Mercury Mountaineer SUV, and the child is only 3 years old.

Im not real chatty with most the people that live around here so i might not ever get the full story, but i really hope the kid is ok!! And hope this makes the momma open her damn eyes.

That really sucks WW, there were these two kids that were probably 5 and 6 six that always played in the streets of our old neighborhood, even when a car was coming they wouldn't move and I never saw there parents watching them, I'm still surprised that they never got hurt.

Also I'm looking into getting another bk10 but can't decide between the LE on the bay or if I should get a camillus

finished the leather sheath for the hiker. This ain't my forte, but I can make it work.
The snap serves as the retention feature. The dye is darker than I wanted, so the dark edges don't stand out
