Horace Kephart Tribute..."Beckerized"...

I want one or two, I'd like it to have the coating from the factory and I'd strip it off all but what's under the handles. I'd love to see a spearpoint tweener.

That's what I like to do as well, when I do strip, which is not very often actually. I like beating the snot out of the coating, haha. I could see doing it on this, though. I'm working on a clear coat model, so stay tuned. Can't quite get it right for some reason...

To me, whatever knife I have/take with me is a bushcrafting knife, etc.

^^^This^^^

I know I have only been to one Gathering thus far so my association with fellow Beckerheads is still somewhat limited beyond the bounds of this forum. But I think I can safely say that most of us have an interest in some form of bushcraft or another. In fact I would wager a guess that Beckerheads uniquely are comprised of folks who simply are unafraid to use a knife to it fullest potential and then some.

So yeah, I don't think Ka-Bar would have any trouble finding homes for a Kephart styled blade. I'd be in for a couple, for sure.

Nice job on the rendering The Warrior The Warrior , would certainly be fun if this ever became a reality. Though I would agree with those who want to do away with the coating, but no matter, I would strip it regardless :D.

i'll update the other Kephart thread with some new pix... :D

nice job Warrior... the new pix are "the higher rez giga pixels", might help

it was a pleasure to hold the actual, along with a a second edition book which i own:

that was so last couple months ago :D

also Beckmuck and BeckCliff and BeckScandi and old BeckDonald has a farm...

I had this old PIC Solingen knife laying around and all this talk about the Kephart inspired me to modify. So this is my Kepharteskish knife.
I ground down and buffed the hand guard, the knifes tang is like a rattail that is held by a rivet on the pommel and is held by that rivet and the hand guard. It had alot of vertical play. I filled the space between the tang and handle with JBWeld and filed it flush. Really strong now. The scales are cracked but i really liked the aged look of them so I reused them. The scale pins were tiny so I drilled them out and put larger pins in then glued the scales. Its pretty ugly but it feels great in my hand and it fits a tweener sheath perfectly
