Horace Kephart Tribute..."Beckerized"...

Ethan posted this thread about the Horace Kephart knife: http://www.bladeforums.com/threads/the-knife-that-horace-kephart-created.1496191/

Have always admired that design, and thought I would do a "Beckerized" rendering. I took this photo from that thread:

I then cut it out using the GIMP program, then resized it using the same. Shadow added:

I then used that direct copy of the cut out, to render what I perceive at least, to be what this knife would look like if it were a Becker blade. The "Beckhart", if you will:

A fun rendering to do. Thanks for looking.

Thay's too cool. I actually think this would be a great addition to Becker's line up.

I like the 4 1/2 version. I think that it can do anything the 5 can, I have never been a baton type person with a knife, me personally not saying it cannot be done with such a knife.

I recently picked up an Ontario Blackbird which in my eyes is an OKC styled Kephart. Basically a 5" spear point blade on a typical blocky micarta Ontario style handle. I am actually so far quite smitten with the Blackbird and find the handle very comfortable, I don't intend to knock the handle at all. I was using it side by side with the Bk16 and was comparing the two. I love the 5 inch spear point blade and thought I would play around and see what that blade might look like on a tweener handle. I think it looks amazing and seeing as how a "Beckhart" has been mentioned a few times and seeing as how Ethan is a fan of the Kephart I thought I might post this here for your viewing pleasure.

I know, it isn't a Kephart with a tweener handle. Just call it a spear point tweener then. ;) Or maybe a Beckerized Dadley? Isn't the Kephart sort of Horace's refined adaptation of the Dadley?

As always, opinions and feedback are always welcomed and encouraged. :)

The original pic. I took a pic of them together to hopefully not have to deal with the proportions at all and just do a cut and paste. It seemed to work well.

The mashup. I would buy this knife in a split second without thinking twice. Maybe keeping the blade at 5 inches would make it different enough from the BK16 to make is more feasible in the product line?

Cool mock up man. Too close to the 16 to ever be made though, me thinks.

Thanks man. I would love to have one.

Ok so this has been on my mind for a few months...i picked up a bk16 that had the tip broken off. I have been slowly turning it into a Beckhart and planned on coming here and starting a thread about it....i had no idea this thread existed...I should have figured Dubz already did it lol....anyway I might as well post it here...its not completely finished because it's all been hand filing so I need to clean up the lines but its done enough to show....
Ok so it says the file is too large....
