awesome stuff man!

Its a bayonet lug Brian...It accepts Pattern 1917 Bayonet...

Bayo.jpg

Very cool history with those Winchester 1897 Shotguns - during WWI Germans issued formal diplomatic protest against using them in the trench warfare..

Unfortunately this is a Norinco copy but it looks like a real thing (it slamfires as well) but without the 2k price tag original command...

Very cool man. You are going to have to shorten that bayonet blade to 2.5" to make it Illinois friendly.

Does Momma have a rule around the house:

Shotguns on the furniture in fine, but absolutely no mounted bayonets allowed on the sofa.

Momma is not aware of firearms residing on the couch....

2.5" blade on the bayo - damn the handle would be bigger than the blade...

Large has all the cool gear. I talked to him around a month ago. I have to make some time and go out there.

Thinking 'bout buying another 9x19mm pistol,,, Glock 17 or Glock 19 ?

,,,and are the Gen4's better then the Gen3's ? Heard about some problems with that new recoilspring in the Gen4 ?

@Pauli: I think I would be nervous shooting that S&W 500,,, helluva kickback, I guess,,,

Redbe

I like them - they are smaller than factory Hogues but I haven't shot with it yet. Micro is dabomb - light and survives the recoil.

Chibbi

Recoil can be mild to punishing shooting heavy cast bullets...

Okay, so,,, papers for permit are in and I've spoken to my local gundealer,,,

He can get Glock19 Gen3 and Glock19 Gen4 new,,, according to him there are no (longer) issues with the current Gen4's,,,

There's a price difference of 'bout $90-100us between both, the Gen4 being the more expensive one, of course,,,

The only advantage I see is that the recoilspring/rod of the Gen4 is more durable and takes aprox. double the amount of rnds fired before having to be replaced,,,

Which Gen in your opinion should I get ?

ps: I'm also planning on buying a CAA Tactical RONI carbine conversion kit for it,,, but it should work with both Gen's,,, (and yes, I know it would be cheaper to buy an extra carbine in pistol caliber, but that would mean a lot more papers and exams resulting in most probably a 'no you can't have such a thing, much too dangerous' )

Do they have one you can hold/shoot? The Gen 4 has 3 grip options in the design. The Gen 3 only has brick grip. I have the Gen 4, 17. Large gloves fit tight on me and I prefer the skinniest grip.

No, unfortunately I can't hold one,,, I have to order one of the two unseen,,, they're called gunshops, but most don't actually have much guns in stock,,, too little a market overhere,,,

I'm used to the G19 Gen3 at work though,,, I think it's the Medium grip size on the Gen 4,,, suits me well,,,

@Pauli: is it because of the ejection issues ? He says those have been rectified,,, or do you have another reason to choose the Gen 3 ?

BTW, after how many rounds fired do you usually replace the recoil spring/rod (which is it ? or both ?) of a Glock ? anyone experience with that ? And does the calibre fired make a difference ?

Gen 3 is proven, tried and true. Stick with that, imho. as far as springs go, they are cheap, so... Also, I have a buddy who works for homeland security here and his glock prolly has 20k through it on the factory spring.
