Speaking of little Ti Flashlights,
I got my Ti Preon the other day.

Preon%201%20Ti.jpg

Its a Single AAA battery light.
You turn the head to L,Med,and Bright.
(run through cycle twice and get to strobe and other modes)

Light is nice, pocket clip is GREAT. I dont see this one
breaking off like the one on my Maretek.
What I dont like about this thing is that it is so polished,
its almost impossible to turn it on/off with one hand.
The maratek was knurled to allow you to do it 1 handed.

I see they sell an optional tail clicky switch for the preon,
so I may order it.
Other than the highly polished finish,I think its a great light!
Maybe I can get it bead blasted to provide enough "grip"
for 1 handed operation.
Ive been carrying it in my pocket daily since I got it.

Anybody else get one (Brian?) and what did you think?

I got one for mama. She had the same problems going through the levels. It's really smooth on the outside and the threads were really gritty. I cleaned the threads up at work and it's a little better but we will be getting the clicky. Back ordered now. The clip was loose when it came and scratched the finish half way around the light when she first played with it. Mama is :grumpy:.

The light is brighter than you'd expect. The lower levels look useful too.

Ya,I forgot to mention that.
I took the head off and wiped down the threads wth a rag.
Looks like they never cleaned off the thread cuttings.
I put a little of that deoxit cleaner on them and it is a little better.
I removed the o-ring and the head adjusts better,so I think
the o-ring is a little tight and needs to be broke in.

As for the scratches caused by the clip,ya,but my light is already
all scratched up from rubbing against my Spyderco which is also
clipped in the same pocket.

I just really needed a small, bright light that i would HAVE WITH ME
when I needed it. This one will be edc.

dag nabbit about the backorder clicky.

It's a general rule here on BFC. Because otherwise dealers would feel free to spam all the forums with their offers.

I asked becuae I wasn't sure if Jeremy had a little leeway here on his own forum.

The answer I got was that it was because REI doesn't support BFC.

I just got an informal warning, not any sort of yellow chiclet.

Deal spotting happens all the time here; enforcement seems uneven.

Saw a thread recently where someone mentioned a CountyComm light and a mod posted in the thread as if no deal had been mentioned.

Durned if I can tell when it's okay and when it's not.

Plucker,
I haven't heard of it but the link you provided leads to a comprehensive review. It looks like a bargan!

I took the TK 40 and the 6P out on my night walk with the dogs, which leads to a large open non-illuminated field, approximately 50 acres, with ambient light absorbing trees and undergrowth. The TK40 at 630 lumens is just unstoppable, it leaves no question as to what is out at the 300 meter range!
The 6P with Malkoff is a serious pocket rocket at 235lumens, hard to believe how impressed I was when I first got it, when it was 60 lumens incandescent.

Don't forget about the warm tint malkoff, its nice too :D

Thanks for the review Pepper.

I just ordered M60 for 6P and I don't even own 6P yet.

I just ordered the M60 drop-in for my 6Z.

I got the in-stock notice from Malkoff, but then I looked at the JS Burly site. The drop-in was a buck cheaper, and shipping was $3 cheaper.

Will post some beam shot comparisons (old versus new) when it comes in.

Fenix TA-20 came in the mail. Nice. Bright! Bigger than I pictured, but not a problem for someone who EDC's a 1911.

Can't wait to use it in the dark tonight.
