Any comments or experience on the FNAR? I like it, but wonder how much better it is than the regular BAR - I'd like to pick up a 308, but not a big fan of the bolts

Morning Folks

Where's OP
I need to borrow someones
"Weapons Language Decoder"
I dont have a friggin clue what you guys are talkin about.
I blame Mayor Daley cuz he's restrictin my rights
to play with guns.

and Horton doesn't even make a 2.5" blade.

I found this on eHow:

How to Get a Permit to Carry a Concealed Weapon in Illinois

Be over 21. You will need to provide your Illinois Identification Card number or Illinois driver's license number on the application.

Apply for a Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) which is issued on a "shall issue" basis. See www.isp.state.il.us for more information on how to apply. The application form is available at the same website. The FOID card will allow you to possess (not carry) firearms.

Send the completed FOID application, along with the processing fee and your photograph to the Illinois State Police, Firearm Owner's Identification Unit, Post Office Box 19233, Springfield, IL 62794-9233. The fee is non-refundable and your application will be processed within 30 days.

Sign the FOID card. This card must be renewed every five years.

Become a mayor, alderman, president, trustee, marshal, deputy marshal or policeman. Pass a training course given by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board. This will make you a "conservator of the peace" as defined in the Illinois Municipal Code, Article 3.1, Division 15, Paragraph 25.

Comply with the following laws regarding firearms: The Firearm Owners Identification Card Act (430 ILCS 65), the Unlawful Use of Weapons Law (720 ILCS 5/24) and the Wildlife Code (520 ILCS 5).

Prediction... Frank Mir, GSP, and Bisbing. Although Fedor would eat them all for breakfast.:D

Brian - How do you like the DD? I put their Omega rails on my Colts, and like the quality, but haven't seen their AR up close -

They look really well built. The attention to detail is shows when going head to head with a lot of other ARs. They include a lot extras too. Below is a video they produced.

You said Ruger. Check out accuracy systems, I got my Mini 14 pimped by them. 2lb. trigger pull, 24in. .900" bull barrel and a full 1" at the chamber, muzzle brake, steel bedding, and new gas block. Shoots sub moa at 100 yds., 1/4" groups! One can be had comparably priced to an AR, and he has guns already built... just a thought.;)

Did you send it to their custom shop? The Daniel Defense I like is around $1800 and the Krebs is $1400. Can I ask, or can you PM me the ballpark price?

His pre-built guns, like mine were going for around 1200.00 several years ago, I paid around 1600.00 for mine when it was all said and done. 700.00 for the gun, which I bought from a local gunstore, and 900.00 for the work. It would've been several hundred dollars cheaper to buy it from him directly. I love that thing, and it has never jammed in almost a 1000 rounds... with factory 20 round mags.

Prices on AR's are dropping back closer to Pro-O levels - Have you checked out the 6920 or 6721 Colt?

Fair warning guys. If I get hooked on buying guns and flashlights because of you, there will be consequences.:D

Maybe I need a really nice flashlight, though I have a SureFire and a few Streamlights. They're kind of bulky though.

I used to only wear cheap sunglasses, but I'd break the hell out of them. Finally bought an expensive pair, and I'm still wearing them because I take better care.

I'm rough on cheap flashlights (Home Despot, Sam's Club), so maybe I need a quality EDC light.

I bought a Fenix L1D light 1 1/2 yrs ago.
First time I spend more than 5 bucks for a flashlight
and I was like "am I friggin crazy"
Well,great investment!
Have not been sorry 1 bit.
I got the brighter Q5 led they call it.
Also bought an extra body so I can use 2 AA batts instead of 1.
Great quality light.

Those Fenixes aren't too expensive.

Countycomm.com also has a new AAA light for just over 20 shells.
