Just about every knife I make starts with a drawing. Here it is.....

Kinda reminds me of a Roach belly in blade shape, can't wait to see the finished thing !:thumbup:
 
How is everyone making out on this?

I have my blade heat treated and the bevels set. Tomorrow I hope to finish it out and glue up the handle scales. Next week I will finish it and sheath it.

Everyone else's progress???
 
Starting to feel the time pressure on this one. I am really far behind on orders and don't want to slight anyone who has an order so I'm trying hard to catch up. I am likely going to make a knife similar to my "camp knife" model. Seems appropriate to me, although the idea of getting to design a new knife is always fun.

SDS...just checked out your website, very nice! Their are a lot of similarities between your camp knife and the one I just made.

I am really interested to see how all these turn out. I have a hunch they will all be quite similar with only slight variances in execution. Just a hunch...I could be totally wrong though:)
 
Your probably right. I think that most of us here have similar ideas on what works and what doesn't. Of course everyone has their own style or flair and that is what will make this fun.

Mine is ground, shaped and drilled, out of heat treat. Probably finish this long weekend. I cant decide on handle material. Go bling or practical???

I can post pics of my SDS camp knife and you can call it a day ;):thumbup:
 
Myright, I'm most likely going to make one like yours. I may play around with the design a little bit but that knife has worked for me so far and the folks that have them seem to like them. It's just a matter of finding the shop time to do it......and deciding on handle material.
