Well guys, I've had myself a little accident. This is going to set me back a few days. Once it heals up some I'll hit the grinder again!

I'm not a Dr. but I'm guessing that hurt.........don't ask me how I would know about that.

Here's my camp knife:) I decided to go with a very simple and functional design. The blade is 3/16" thick, O1 steel, 6" long, 11" overall, micarta scales. The knife weighs 9.5 oz alone and 14.5 oz with the sheath.

Bruce- ouch! I have to say I've been there and done that, we all have, but DAMN it sucks.

My sympathy is probably greater for knowing how that hurts.....

I forgot to tell you, Brian said to go ahead and send that blade my way for testing... and keeping. He said he was just too swamped too deal with it. Thanks for your understanding in this matter...

Ray - If you haven't already shipped it off, I'd like to take a look at that one when I pick you up on Friday.
 
Wow...Some great looking blades so far ! & I said I wasn't going to purchase anymore knives for a loooong time :rolleyes: You guy's are killing me :D
I can't wait to see how this contest goes !
 
Got mine done today, I just need to make the sheath. I am not 100 percent happy with the fit and finish but it does perform as I kitchen tested this evening.
Made some dumb mistakes cosmetic wise but this is going to get beat on I hope so it will be a good evaluation of my design...thats my story and I'm sticking to it:)
I will get a pic up tomorrow

Funny thing...
When i first saw that my screen only showed the handle.
At first glance i mistook it for a square tipped slightly recurved blade. ...sorta Woodsman's Pal'ish

My first thought was: Hey that looks useful!
 
GAH! So I'm out of steel, and the local dealer is out as well. I'm going to place an order out of the next nearest warehouse, which is 2 states away. I only have until next Wednesday due to being out of town for two weeks after that.

Worst case, I'll send in the one that I'm not really happy with, but I would LOVE to get one I am happy with. We'll see.....
