  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How bad have you cut yourself with a knife?

20 odd years ago. Wroking security. Carried a Gerber Boot Knife in the top of my right Wellington boot. Too cool huh? A Coke machine ripped me off at work (late nights, just me and my partner)I could hear the Coke fall, but get hung up in the machine...it did that occassionaly. Reared back and gave it a good solid kick. Best as I can figure, the snap had opened on the sheath. When I raised my leg and cocked it, the knife must have come about 3/4 out of the sheath. When my foot connected to the machine, the knife re-sheathed itself, with great vigor...except at a bit of an angle. that little double edged point came right out through the calf side of the sheath and buried itself at about a 20% angle right in the back of my calf. Went in about an inch and a half, but not that deep due to the angle. Used my sock to stop the bleeding while I hopped back to the office. Butterfly closures and Neosporin...Cool little crescent scar.
