How brand loyal are you to Spyderco?

I'd say an 8 or 9. The only non spyders I'd get are ones that I want that don't have an equivalent from spyderco. That's not many and the ones I get are typically Titanium, or carbon steel.

There's only a few from current lines I don't have but I expect that will change with the expensive, large, fixed blades coming out. I don't expect I'd need 3 different sizes. Joe

I'd probably be an 8 or 9. For locking folders I don't feel I need anything else and I prefer the hole over any stud I've tried.

I'm not quite sold on the fixed blades yet, but in a couple of years Sal will probably have fixed that:D The H1 blades that are coming out look really nice..

I'd guess that I'm a 1. I have several spyderco knives and like everyone of them. I buy knives based on the design and quality of the knives not who's logo is etched on the blade. Spider, Butterfly it doesn't matter as long as it's quality and nice looking.

Same as gmarthur for me. I carry a Cara Cara because I find the design suits me more than anything else I've found in the one-handed knife market. If something else comes along I like better, it'll be in my pocket. The ethics and quality I've found from the Spyderco team makes a good impression on me, but it boils down to how well a particular knife suits my needs and fits my hand.

I would say that I would fall in the 7 to 8 category. Roughly 1/4 of my folder collection are Spydies, but then I didn't "discover" spydies until later in the game:) For me, it depends on a lot on what I read on the forums, what's available locally (by that I don't necessarily mean in the city, but somewhere in Canada), and perceived "need" (with 130+ folders, do I really "need" another one? - of course:D ) and cash dying for a place to be spent:) I've been super busy at work and home lately, so I really haven't added anything for almost a month - that's REALLY a long time for me, so it should be interesting what I run into when I get out there again. I do tend to look at Spydies first, though:D

A full 10 for me as well:thumbup:

Since I bought my first Spydie I never bought another knife:p

I think that after seeing a friends Spyderco, and then ordering one thats on its way (D'Allara 2) I will stick with Spyderco for folding knives, so probably a 9 as I'm sure one day something else will catch my eye... maybe one day if I can justify the cost, I'll get a Sebby, but not for a while yet!

Fixed blades... hmmm, used to be cold steel when I was young and naive, but now its Busse only :D

But being new to Spyderco, I have to admit that their line ups continually impress me

9. The only other knife that i bought since I found out about spyderco in grade 9 has been a seal 2000 and CRKT Carson F4. The 2000 was a gift and I didn't spent a cent on it.

It is rare, spectacularly rare, that I buy any folder besides a Spyderco. When this rare event takes place it's usually because the company has (or had) some sort of connection WITH Spyderco. Blade Tech, Santa Fe Stoneworks, etc. But again, this is a rare happening. It's hard enough to keep up with Spyderco. I'd hate to have to keep up with other companies' offerings.

Besides.... Spyderco is the best in the bidness. Why take giant leaps backwards?

Solid 10 here. The knives suit me perfectly. Great performance and plenty of oddball designs or sprint runs to satisfy the collector-snob in me.

I wouldn't say I am "brand loyal" per se. I would buy any knife that met my standards in design, execution and price. It's just that spyderco fits all of these things better than other companys do. I own two knives that are not spyderco (a buck odessey and a crkt M1) but I never carry them because they don't fit my needs as well as spydercos do. My next knife will probably be a benchmade minigrip with the spyderhole — partly because it fits an otherwise unfilled niche that I need in my collection, partly because I want to see how another brand compares in quality, and partly because I want to see if I like the axis lock.

im pretty new to collecting knives, but after joining this forum and seeing how much integrity sal and his company have, and how much they try to meet the demands of their customers i have to say that i probably wont be buying knives from any other company.

Since my last 5 purchase have been either a Spyderco or a Byrd I guess I am around an 8 or a 9. I have never been dissapointed in the quality of a Spyderco knife.

Well I can't say that I will NEVER buy a non Spyderco knife again, but as of right now 10 is about accurate.

I have absolutely no desire to own anything that is not made by Spyderco. Anything else that fits the non spydie niche has already been purchased (such as the slipjoints I tend to carry as well as a locking Spydie folder.

Spyderco knives are among my favorites. If I had to choose only one brand, it would likely be Spyderco...but, since I can choose more than one brand I do.

I would say 5-6.

:)

I rate about a 7, but am frankly finding that materials, features, and value keep me migrating to the bug-brand. 'Not much I need to cut that I can't with the Native, Caly Jr, or Endura that always seems to be in pocket.

Two days ago when I started to read this thread I felt about the same. But later I realized that during last year I was not able to find any attractive knife made by any other brand, I bought about 30 spydies and I spend more time on Spyderco Forums than with my family. This made me think that I am spyderholic.

I'm about a 8-9 I recently bought a Benchmade 555HG (note: has the thumb hole) but it just doesn't have the same feel as my spydies do.

Id say im about a 5. I really like spyderco but I buy knives from BM and im open to other companies as well. I just like all good quality folders (and some fixed blades although I still havent got a nice one=P)
