How did you get started?

Eric: I first heard about Busse after searching for 'strong' knives, yep a newbie then and now, but not so much I guess. I had a couple of knives break on me at critical times. Came across knifetests, BF & KF. Bought my first Busse, NMSFNO from 'Swoopmaster' and never looked back.

Mid 90's American Survival Guide Magazine, I was a teenager and could not afford one but it was love at first sight. I ordered my first (and only) Busse ,the CGASH1 straight from the source.

I'd just upgraded my flashlights to LED tech and wondered how knives were these days. Did a lot of reading and everyone who counted seemed to agree that Infi was the real deal. It's hard to wrap your mind around a $300 knife based on one blade tilted picture though. Credit Lunde's NMSFNO pix for the tipping point.
Picked up the Tanker Gray NMSFNO off the CompanyStore for the first score. Once I had one in hand, I could wrap my mind around it real easy.

My first Busse came from Hammy at the Indy 1500 Gun & Knife Show:thumbup:

Saw an ad for the Killer B, checked out the website, devoured everything I could read about the blades, Bought my first one, an SH-E, from David Brown. Several thousands of dollars, several years and many many good friends I'm still drinking the kool aid, just sipping more than gulping like I once did. :D Best blades, best warranty, best company and best folks there are, no doubt.

I came across Busse by accident on a review website. There was a review about a Battle Mistress. Anyway, did a spot of poking around and jumped in!! My first was the CGASH1. Black micarta, black blade. I use it nearly every day. I have literally beaten this thing stupid and it only has a few wear marks on the blade. It's also been used in Busse advertising and illustrations...

When it was new(ish)...

Wow Rob, I've never seen the Downunder Razorback version

That is freakin cool!!

Few years ago I was searching for the best hard use knife. I have broken or had other failures with some other knives.

Some how, I stumbled across the Busse Combat site. I thought the site needed some work, and there were not really any knives on it.

I think the model I saw first was the SFNO. I did not like the look of it at all (now it is my favorite mid sized knife, especially the saber ground version!).

That was a while before I found the subforum on here.

The first time I saw a Battlemistress I was in love.

I was another that thought I would never spend that much on a production knife.

Then I spend some more time on here and started seeing the prices of a lot of other knives.

I traded into my first Busse, a modded FBMLE from Bill Siegle. I also traded for one of his customs.

I have now owned FBMLE, SS, GW, BAD, Ash1cg, B11, KZII, and Sarsquatch, BAD (again), and a CABS on order.

I found bladeforums and hence Bussekins while reading an infantly long cliff stamp thread somewhere which somehow got me here. My first busse was after I missed out on a long ago ganza, called Garth and talked himn into making me a tan/snakeskin SJTAK out of left over parts. The I ran into 360Jules and Skunk at the first Portland Bladewest, bought a GW, SC6LE, 2nd gen howling rat, and passed on a Ratweiler and Rat Mastif. Yes, I was stupid. I have demonstrated that several times since. My collection now stands at +30 and I still have not scored at a gonza.

I started looking around for a good solid fixed blade, found the Busse forum and at the time the ASH 1 LE were on the website. It was by first Busse purchase. I now have more Busse knives than I will ever need (some safe queens and some users) but I ain't selling any :D:)

Long live Tiger hide with satin blade LE's :thumbup::thumbup:

My favourite combo for all shapes and sizes

Years ago a friend of mine got an SH BM and showed it to me. I wanted a Busse knife ever since. Finally got my first, an ash-1, at a knife show about a year and a half ago.

Started with a cheap Spyderco folder. Registered in BF to read and learn. Read about Hinderers. Got Hinderers. Read about Busse. Now want Busse. I regret coming to BF :(

I can't really remember, but it was in 06, and i think it was from looking at the Pic stickey that got me to wanting one.

My first few were GW's, and man was it hard to score one back then!

I think Cliff Stamps old website was how I found out about Busse.
+1. I saw Cliff's reviews of the Camp Tramp and Howling Rat. Then I read featherstone's Jeep Story and that was all I needed. I picked up a Camp Tramp right away. Then I bought a Straight Handled Satin Jack CG from Skunk before he opened the BCS. I still have both blades.

I was prepping for Y2K and read an article by Ron Hood in the American Survival Guide
I then placed an order in early January 1999 paid up front and eventually got about half of my order in October 1999.

I first saw Busse at a gunshow in Columbus OH and looked at the price and was turned away.

Just recieved my first one (GW) in a trade from another forum for some gear that I didn't use. I can def. tell they are money well spent and can see in the future I will be broke.
