How did you quit smoking?

I tried to quit three times, the third was the charm. I tried the patch the first two times and they were pretty effective but as soon as I was off I went right back. The third I went cold turkey and quit. Don't mean to sound arrogant but I really want too the last time. Try whatever method works for but I believe you really have to want to quit.

I just ordered a 18650 mechanical mod and a couple Kanger Pro tanks.

You need regulation if you're going to use kanger pro tanks. A mech mod is suitable if you build your own coils on an RDA, or RTA. Look into an IStick 50 watt, or something.

Charlie get the kanger "subtank" it's a way better tank with an adjustable airflow. And how long have you been vaping? I could send you a few rebuild able kayfun clones I have laying around that I am not useing anymore. You would have to learn how to rebuild them though. I learned mostly by YouTube.

Excellent advice. Little does he know, he's buying the wrong things and will wind up spending more money than he wants to.

I smoked for 25 years. In 2000 I noticed I was getting short of breath. My Doc says "don't worry it's Asthma". Well, my "Asthma" just gets worse so in 2002 my Doc orders a Pulmonary Function test. The Pulmonologist comes in and tells me I have stage 3 Emphysema and if I don't stop smoking I will be dead in 3 years. I quit that day......................................

However, when you smoke yourself to COPD/Emphysema you have missed the deadline to living a normal life. Keep smoking and some of you will end up like me; I am on oxygen 24/7, I cannot walk 10 steps without stopping because I am so short of breath I cannot talk, 5 steps if on a stairway.

Keep smoking and some of you will also be like me; chasing a Lung transplant and having to sell everything you worked you whole life for to fund the 20 grand portion of a lung transplant not covered by Insurance.

All this crap for a F***ing cigarette................................

ecig.

it's not quite quitting, but it is a ton less risky than cigs.

Also saved a bunch of $$$, just can't go hog-wild with buying tech.

I don't want a dripper. Is there a non dripper that will work with a mechanical mod?

A few have mentioned dipping, which seems to be a tradeoff. Snus (Swedish, NOT:camel/skoal/Marlboro) could be a good tool as it is available in several nicotine levels. Swedish snus, using pasteurized tobacco instead of fermented, is also regulated by the Swedish version of the FDA as a food product. There is a lot of info available pertaining to its minuscule health risks, even as a straight tradeoff it's a very good alternative.

Not really bro. Maybe you could use the rebuilding section that comes with the kanger sub tank. Mechs use the battery's voltage and drain with use. That combined with a high ohm coil, your not going to get much vape time and the power will go from burning your juice to underpowered during the course of the battery's usage.

Get a sigeli box mod, or one of those istick 50 watt mods. You'll be glad you did.

I got the 30 watt iStick. Good thing I didn't spend more than $20 on mechanical clone.

I started by cutting down and became a clock smoker. One at 8:00am, then 10:00am etc. After a while I met a young lady, who is now my wife. She commented that if I was meant to smoke I would have been born with a chimney on my head. That comment was made 35yrs ago and since then I have never lit another cigarette.

Quit, quit, quit again...repeat. The number one predictor of quitting success is the number of attempts. There are of course also some medications your doctor can prescribe such as chantix. I never tried them but I have given them to patients with great success. Vamping is clearly better than smoking... But we don't really know the long term consequences of this either. It also may be even more addicting considering the higher nicotine concentrations achieved and perception of it being a harmless alternative.

I get my fix on three lungfulls of 24 mg. then I walk away while others are still chain smoking in the smoke pit.

Cold turkey has the highest quit rate that I've heard about,I smoked 1 1/2 packs per day for 35 years and quite 3 years ago with laser treatments similar to accu-puncture,it also has a high success rate for quitting,It's like cold turkey but it takes the cravings away for a day or two. When I went for my treatments I went for 2 days in a row and back in a week and back in a month for $295.00,probably the best money I ever spent. It's also my understanding nicotine replacement therapies have a really low success rate. The Wellbutrin also helps with maintenance when you do quit. And good luck.

Forgot to mention i think it was on my 5th try that I successfully quit.

You know where the term "cold turkey" came from? When a junkie is kicking H, the skin gets clammy and is like that of a bird at the grocer.

I have to put in another vote for the e-cigs/vaping. My girlfriend and I quit together, she went cold turkey but I'm not quite as stubborn as she is. I tried wellbutrin, didn't help me much and kinda gave me some mood swings (though it could have just been irritability from trying to quit). I started using those blu cigs and smoking, slowly cutting back on the cigarettes until I was just using the ecig. I found it was way easier to quit the ecig than straight from cigarettes. The whole process took a couple months. Been two years now and while I still have the occasional cigarette drunk at a bar with friends (maybe every couple of months) I feel like a different person. I'm a very impulsive guy and thought it was gonna be impossible for me to quit but it's so worth it. Good luck whatever you try.

One of the problems with e cigs, is that you'll use them way more than you smoked. It's just convenient. If you never smoked in your house, you'll be able to with them. And you'll be able to use them in places you wouldn't be able to smoke a cigarette in. You just end up using them way more than you'd smoke a cigarette since it's convenient.

Using ecigs, went from a pack a day to nothing in about 3 days. I really wanted to quit though, I had enough of the ashtray smell on everything. My wife was glad I quit as well. You have to want to stop smoking to be honest. If you aren't ready then wait until you are. By the way some of the meds are worse than smoking. Chantix made me really aggressive, I had some very strange dreams, and could not sleep worth a flip for the 3 weeks I took it. I felt like I was on a path to do harm to someone that would not have deserved it so I stopped taking the meds. Everything was back to normal.
