How do you dew?

Oh and maybe I should add, I don't do it in public, only when I am sitting by myself, flicking a knife open and shut repeatedly in company is on par with clicking a pen to me. I try not to annoy people since I don't like getting annoyed.

Funny, I had the chance to handle a PM2 with flytanium scales on it and it was killer man! I was ready to buy a set that night, but when I really put my mind to it given my profession as an electrician and the fact that I work outside about 40% of the time in the Florida heat I worried it wouldn’t be to make a “purchase” on the copper scales given they are so slick :/ but these are just me thought and I speak from no experience whatsoever.

I will have to check this K-2 out. I do enjoy riding elevators.. :D

Heh I am an Electrician as well, so it felt kind of neat to have some copper scales to go with that. But yeah, they are pretty slick, I imagine once they fully patina they will be grippier, although with the weight it's more of a home EDC anyway for me. If you do get some, I suggest keeping the clip off until you have a good patina going otherwise you get a weird clip "shadow" on the copper (I ended up polishing the patina off, removed clip and now waiting for the handle to darken again.)

This was the main reason to purchase them, the PM2 I handled had the brass ones and I did some research and stumbled upon COPPER ones, it was too good to be true and I’m sure the guys at the shop would get a kick out of it haha.

Good tip about keeping the clip off while they patina, I’ll keep this in mind thank you!

Try high polished fixed blades and use them as a shaving mirror.... ;) Or as a signalling device when you're lost...

I don't believe anyone who likes knives and says they don't fidget with a knife from time to time.

I don't and I own 45 knives.

Lol, I just cant get passed the fact that an OTF knife of any variant makes me feel like I need to be wearing a black leather jacket, denim jeans and have my hair slicked back with bacon grease in order to carry the thing, but hey those are just my opinions! ;)

When I owned and carried a Microtech Scarab never once did I feel like a greaser, nor did I sing a song while dancing and snapping my fingers with a group of other greasers. Maybe if I owned a side-opening Italian stiletto.

Passed is the past tense of pass.

If I have a CQC-7 with a wave on me (which is most of the time) I always find myself with the knife on my lap, backstrap on my leg, blade up and tip down toward my knee, and my finger under the wave opening/closing the knife over and over and over... like only 20% open, and then closed again. Click, Click, Click, Click... Drives my wife nuts and I don't notice I'm doing it.

I do it when I'm driving too. it's relaxing. click click click

I getcha man, I’ve met two guys with BM Infidels and I mean..they are cool for about 3 “deploys” after that it just feels like your pushing a button to open said knife. I guess what I’m getting at is I like having some sort of “interaction”? with the knife instead of just pushing a little slider up? To each his own though!

Nice catch on the grammar, thanks!

Hahaha glad to see someone suffer the same fate!

Funny I actually have a video of me opening my Hati showing the action to a fellow and you hear my wife in the background yell “Would you stop flipping that thing!” :D

... flipping your knife in a moving car seems like a bad idea.
A very, very bad idea.

I'm not really fidgety. I don't play around with my knives all that much and I definitely have never bought a knife for the fidget factor.

On the other hand, I really appreciate knife mechanics. It's kinda my "thing" when it comes to this hobby. So I'll usually work the action a few times before I put a knife in my pocket in the morning, just to give it some love and remind myself why I decided to keep that particular model. I've also realized that I have a habit of working the action a few times in appreciation after I've used one of my knives:

*cuts something*
* Thinks , "wow, the action is really nice on this knife"*
*open*
*close*
*open*
*close*
*open*
*close*
*put away*.

I would call that fidgeting. :D I really don't play with my knives much. When something is new, and a folder, I will open and close it to make some judgments on the quality and so forth. But I don't play with them in front of the TV. Truth is that I seldom "sit in front of the TV" ever as I have a TV in my office and it is usually on "something". I turn the sound to mute when I get phone calls.

I dont consider the fidget factor when buying it, but i definitely play with all of my knives. OTFs, Spydie flicks, and axis locks rank at the top of the fun factor list for me.

Off topic but, hows that anthem? Ive been greatly considering one for a while now.

Glad to hear your input Spy, I too am guilty of getting familiar with the knife before it enters the pocket for the day, especially if it hasn’t seen pocket time recently. It almost gets the muscle memory flowing again so when I do come across a task that need a blade I don’t feel like I’m “learning” the knife over again haha.

Yeah I’d say those are the most common for sure.

The Anthem is superb. The lock up, opening/closing the blade, even the ergonomics aren’t too shabby for being a Ti integral knife. Though as stated before in some of my earlier post I wouldn't carry/purchase one if your looking for a super grippy purchase on a knife. In my eyes it’s BMs take on the Sebenza user that wants to be able to flick a sebenza without “critically thinking” about the deploy if you will. Hope this makes any sense to you. As I will gladly answer any other questions you have via DM

Not only do your OTF comments seem a little off-topic, but your two quotes shown below seem to contradict each other?

Just sayin'...

Why not? For the amount of time you spend and value you place on pretending that your PM 2 is one, seems like you should get one.

I mean I dont go out in the woods waving at brush and making "chop chop" noises with my peanut. I bring a machete.

You like flipping you knife open like its an auto...then why not get one.

No. I don't go out of my way to annoy people. I try to avoid it actually.

But hey, whatever makes you happy.

UPDATE: I apologize, I didn't read all the way to the end of the thread before replying. It turns out, others had already stated the obvious.

I am definitely a fidgeter with my knives and open and close them hundreds of times a day. I just enjoy a good action. Could give a rats ass if it is a ‘tool’ or not. When I need to cut stuff, I will. But in the mean time fiddling with them is just my way of appreciating them. And yes, every knife I buy better be fun to open and close and not cause finger pain somehow, or it is gone quick. Thus, why I will not by a slip joint, or lock back, or autos. They are just not fun for me. If it’s a sickness, I am riddled with terminal knife fidgeting flu.

I agree, the PM2 is great for that, but I would put my Sebenza’s neck and neck with the PM2 for enjoyable knife operation.

If you want a knife to fidget with I suggest you try a balisong, spinning a karambit, or there are some other good fidget knives like trifolders. Take your fidgeting to another level.....either that or get a fidget spinner.

What in the hell is this?!
Large Classic MM that my wife talked Butch into converting for me as a birthday present many years ago...pretty hard to find these days. Chris asked Butch to stop doing the conversions shortly after I had mine done.
