I've enjoyed reading thru this thread and seeing all the great displays. I've been looking for an interesting/old/cool way to display / store my slowly growing EDC rotation...think I found it today!

Nice, great idea!

eisman eisman that is one great cabinet!!
I made a few of these display cases that stack on top of one another last summer from reclaimed Cypress and Teak. Worked out pretty good so I made a few more and ended up with 9 of them. Needed room to grow.:)

These look awesome. You did a great job.

^^^Those cases are great! The biggest problem with the map chest is that it's really heavy. I don't like where it's at, but I really don't want to move it.

I keep many of mine on display or easily accessible on this old glass/wood shelving unit in my den/office/cave. Then there's a large cabinet drawer in the same room where most of the rest go. No rhyme nor reason to my organization, more like disorganization.

The old glass shelving unit is being replaced this month with an oak cabinet that will keep the knives behind closed doors. We ordered it a few weeks ago and it should show up in January. Now that I have an 18 month old grandson, that is into everything, I needed something to deter his "too soon" introduction to sharp items.
The missus and I had to agree on a piece of furniture that didn't offend her sensibilities, even though she steers clear of my "fortress of solitude".:D

I was lazy and didn't go back to first page and read thru to see if someone has said this. But, I just got thru saying on the Buck Forum some of them (and now You) need to increase your home 'contents' insurance with the value of your knife collections. Make a list and value of your knives and you will see what I mean. A couple of Buck folks have had knives stolen and homes burn down and lost everything. Just saying. Money won't bring some of them back, but you earned it in your efforts to originally find them and care you have taken to maintain them........

To answer original question, photos displayed in one of those video picture frames people put vacation photos in/on. Actual knives stored in fire "resistant" gun safe (only 30 minutes). But, positioned it where a fire hose can shoot a stream of water thru a window directly on safe. 300Bucks

300, My wife has been telling me to write an inventory of my collection for some time now.
I think that I may get started on it this week.

Cigar boxes. Lots of cigar boxes. But except for one nos Schrade 293y still in it’s tube, all mine are users. I am not a collector, just an obsessive accumulator.

Except for some tl29s which I plan to play frankenstein with, all are kept razor sharp, oiled, and clean.
When I open a package with those little dessicant packs that say DO NOT EAT, I save them and put them in with my knives.

I have a friend that's into wood working and when he has a few scraps I have him put together a tray for me.
This holds the knives up on a 45 degree angle or so and works like a display or can be stored in a drawer next to others.

Here's the first one doing a test fit for length and height of various knives:
