How long did you wait for your K5 Tomahawk?

I have no axe to grind here, other than I was thinking of ordering a K5, but I really think this part of the thread belongs in GB&U (as a new thread). When posted there, things seem to happen fast! Just a suggestion. ;)
 
This is not the only place having issues with K5:

If you guys used a major credit card (VISA or AMEX), you could contact the credit card company. I've had to do this with AMEX once on a rifle scope that I paid for (but never showed up). They refunded my money almost immediately, then they investigated the retailer. I think VISA will do the same. I don't know about other cards.
 
I have faith in Eddie you'll get your hawk. I waited about the same amount of time from charge. There have been a number of setbacks, and I don't blame Eddie for wanting to insure he's sending you the best product he can...

Sounds great, but how do you explain away the fact that he's using people's money for over a year? A year. :thumbdn:

Anyone have any ideas as to why Mr. Killian might be doing this?
 
Eddie is a poor business man, plain and simple. I suggest anyone that has ordered a hawk from him and not recieved it jump on this NOW.
 
I am back from vacation and am just getting caught up on calls, emails and such.

762 Shooter: Your card was refunded this morning and I emailed you a scan of the receipt.

I am not a thief. I am one guy with a start-up company, that got so many orders at once, that I could/cannot get suppliers to do the jobs they say they will do. I am frantically(understatement) trying to get the sheaths produced.

It has and is a huge burden on me that I have not been able to get these sheaths produced. I have also offered refunds to any of the few customers that had pre-paid.

Now that I am back from vacation I am near the phone, and the computer.

I do not consider this an appropriate excuse. I also am one guy with a "Start up" company. I do not make excuses to my customers. I have given you the option of sending me the hawk without the sheath. I have stated that I would have been PLEASED to receive it that way and either receive a credit from you or the hawk at a later date. You made no atttempt to please your customer. It would not have come to this had you not charged me over a year ago. I would have been happy to wait this long and not complained.
 
Due to the delay, and anxiousness of you, the customers. (which I totally understand) Here is a copy of an email we have sent to all our customers today. Shipping starts ASAP. :)

Dear K5 Tactical Customers,

As many of you are aware, we have had a difficult process procuring a sheath supplier for quite some time. It has been difficult for you to wait for your hawks, and even more difficult for Nicol and I to try and nail down a supplier.

I have had the best of intentions in holding off on the shipping of the hawks without the sheaths. But many of you have, understandably, become anxious.

Therefore, Nicol and I have decided to ship the hawks that have been ordered, without the sheaths. Sheaths will follow as soon as they are available, and will be shipped at no additional charge.

If you choose to not want a sheath, or go with a custom manufactured sheath, please let me know and you will be refunded the sheath value.

We have also changed the website to allow for ordering of hawks and sheaths separately.

Our plan is to ship all the hawks over the next two weeks, starting with the oldest orders. If you have any questions, please email me at sales@k5tactical.com

This is great news. I can't wait to get my spike. It was a good decision to ship without the sheaths. I really dont need a sheath with mine so I can wait on that. My hammer poll K5 is a beast vertually in destructable so waiting for another beast was not a problem for me. Eddie always responded to my emails and always left me confided that I was still going to receive my hawk. I never felt as if I was ripped off.

In my eyes Eddie did the best he could.

Great K5 business model. Use the customers money for one year interest free and finance the CEO's vacation on the customers dime. I wonder what K5 is doing for the Snipershide K5 Group Buy referenced in the previous thread?

Has anyone received their Hawks? I went to the web site today and want to order 2 hawks but don't want to throw my money into a black hole or K5 Retirement plan. I also could not get the site to deduct the sheath from the price (maybe it's me) but instead of the 159 price it automatically adds 199 per. Anyone know what's up with K5 this week. It looks like a great product but availability and CS seem to suck.

anyone get their hawks yet? i ordered one back in october 05 i think and after waiting 2-3 months i canceled my order.

i still want one though, but im sure as hell not gonna wait a year for one. are they shipping yet? why cant you order them WITHOUT the sheath on the website?
 
This type of thing reminds me of another Company that used to charge the CC and then ship when they wanted ...... and if you were cheeky enough to ask about your order they would reply in kind that it would arrive in "two weeks".....

I agree that this should be moved to GB & U

I did get my money back from him and I believe it was his attempt to "stick it to me" by telling everyone that he was going to ship out the hawks sans sheath to keep everyone happy. I had asked him 3 time in the last year to do this saying that I would be more than happy to receive it without the sheath. He does not seem to be concerned with keeping his clients happy. It will bite him in the ass. He may make a great hawk but he is a poor business man.
