How long have you carried that edc knife??

I carried a Military for over 2 years before getting a Large Regular Sebenza, which I carried for over 5 years....everyday, no changups in EDC during that time. Now the Sebbie is pretty much retired and since I finally got a BM 710, I plan on having this one ride in my pocket for a long time as well. :D

Great choice, Shadow. The 710 is one of my regular EDC knives. Love the larger blades.

Thanks, I had been alternating between the ZT 0550 and 0300 but I did have a yearning for a longer blade and traded for one when the opportunity came up.....just got it in the mail yesterday. Carrying a longer blade will take a little getting used to again, but just like the Millie, I know that it will grow on me.....and the dependability of the AXIS is definitely another perk. I would have loved getting one with M390 steel but will just have to see if I can find one later on and since I've never tried out D2 steel so I'm eager to see how it performs.....touched up the edge earlier and it now has a hair popping, razor sharpness to it.

I really don't like to alternate my EDC because I've found that once you get used to using just one knife, everything in its' use becomes second nature. This can really be handy when it comes to using just one knife for utility and self defense(if needed) purposes and because if this, I will usually touch up the edge as needed to keep it as sharp as can be. ;)

Mine's from 2005 or so and it uses 154CM. I'd love to have one in D2 as that's what my 806 uses and that blade just lasts forever! M390's definitely got some good stuff going for it, but I'm confident that D2 is gonna surprise you, as long as things haven't changed much in BM's heat treat.

As for switching it up, I agree. I just can't stop swapping them out; I want to carry them all, but I can't bring myself to carry more than one full size folder, so my only compromise is to switch them out on a whim. I suppose there's worse problems to have.

I've heard quite a few good things about BM's heat treat of their D2 and after watching some videos on youtube, I am sure that I'll be happy with it. :D

I agree about wanting to carry them all......I'd be in trouble there since my pants would probably be falling down all day long with the 710, two ZTs in my pockets and a Wave w/tool kit on my belt. Lol

Although the 710 may be overkill for my EDC needs, one thing is for sure....overkill never fails.
Better to have that large folder and not need it than to need and not have. ;)

4 years is the longest I ever carried the same knife. Very old CRKT Point Guard, first knife I ever bought. Now its a chore to decide what to carry.

Back in the olden days, I carried a Kutmaster (girl) scout knife for about 8 years, until I replaced it with a SAK Explorer, which I carried daily for the next 3, until my brother lost it.
After that, it was a succession of SAK Classics for about 11 years, until the TSA relieved me of all of them.
Trying to find the perfect one-hander, I carried an M-Tech cheapie for a month, a SOG Salute for a couple months, a Leek for a couple months, a Kershaw Shallot for a couple months, and a BM940 for about 6 months.
I'd like to say I've EDC'd the Blue M390 Para2 since I got it in early January, but I've subbed it out for a med Stockman, Leek, or Sage 1 just a day or two per week when I felt a PM2 might be kinda large (like going to church or visiting my daughters' school.)
I expect the Para2 will be my primary EDC for years to come - I'm that happy with it. But I'll continue to replace it with the Sage at church, the Leek when I wear shorts, a Salt I when I go swimming, and the Stockman when I work @ school. Does that mean I can only count a max of 6 days???

A CPM-154 Buck 110 is often found on my belt and when I want to treat myself, I'll sub it out with a CPM-154 Alpha Dorado. Otherwise an Emerson 'Gentleman Jim' is a welcome addition.

Longest ever in a row for me was probly a buck 110 from ages, eh 12-18 consistently, and It's old as hell now but I still have carry it on rare occasions... It's got that "knife that got me into knives" sentimental value.

I am on Day 3 with my Perrin PPT... :D

My previous EDC, a Spyderco Superhawk, accompanied me for about a year. Sometimes I need to downsize due to municipality restrictions (or other security restrictions), at which point I tote a Poliwog, or even downsize to a Lava.

I carried a Spyderco Delica for about 8 years straight. A Chive for close to two years. A s60v Blur for 3+ years now. And a Vic Soldier for close to 3 as well.

been carrying this near every day since i got it over a year ago

I've carried a Victorinox Classic on my keys for the past twenty years or so. Not the same one, mind you--lost a few to the airport, swapped a couple for different colours, etc. Within the last year, I've switched to a Vic Rambler. Other folders come and go, but the small SAK is here to stay.

This talk of SAKs reminded me that I've carried a Wenger Esquire (serrated blade) on my keychain longer than I can recall -- maybe 10-12 years...?

I've carried my old Puma Cadet (original Solingen Puma) for more than 12 years, used as edc and never abused, sharpened once.
A real timeless knife in this world of supersteel and hi tech locking system :)

Benchmade Osborne 940 every day for 7 years. Lately, I've bought several knives and have been rotating through some new stuff. Still have that trusty 940 though...

The one I carried the longest was my D2 Mini Grip for 5 years, I believe. Last winter, it dropped out of my pocket and I found it when the snow melted. Lots of rust and it dropped partially open and the tip was broken. It was a good knife and I've considered getting another, but I'm pretty happy with the Leek, Mini Cyclone, and Becker BK14 I carry on rotation now.

I carry a Spyderco Police that is about 20 years old. Looks good with the 'coin wash effect' of riding all this time in my pocket along with keys and change. The blade is slighty thinner and shorter from sharpening and use. I also EDC a folding Buck Kalinga for the past three years. The fixed blades rotate but my favorite ones are older too.

I had a red handled Buck Bucklite in my wallet since grade 8, however haven't carried a wallet in about 5 years or so. I keep a Spyderco Spin that was given to me as an extra in a trade (i joked about sending both knives and the other party did!!!) on my keychain, I have a Walter Kayser pearl lobster slipjoint in my pocket of my scrubs daily for fingernail/loose skin touchups for about 3 years I think (2 or 3, I think 3), and have had my grail clip folder on my pocket daily since I received it in Feb(?) of this year. My 5 year old daughter is kind of frustrated that I carry the clip folder exclusively now, because she used to have a choice of what to pick me for the day! A couple of times I've relented and gone without the folder, but it is pretty much an EDC now. I really need to get a review up on it.
