How long have you carried that edc knife??

I carried a BenchMade 690 for quite a few years. Very nice knife, 154CM. A gent's knife. Then, a Spyderco Caly3 for a few yrs. Now, I'm playing around, trying to find one that suits me. It's kind of tough. I buy one; find I don't like it at all; sell it.

Well over 10 years with a Spyderco Endura I bought in 1991. It was my one and only folder with clip for that duration. Used it every day at work until the lock finally failed.
I then discovered this place and my wallet has never been the same:D

I never met a knife I didn't like.:D

I carry an EDC knife somewhere between 30 minutes and 3 days before switching to something else. I admire these guys that carry the same knife for 12 years, and I love a knife that had lots of battle scars, but thats just not me.

Bought a ZT 350 in Feb been carrying it ever since. The usual suspects include a Colt Python Elite, CRKT Brian Tighe designed Tighe Tac, Kershaw 3540, Gil Hibben Designed folder made by United, a Steel Warrior ITS Barlow and a Rams Horn Saddlehorn made by Ocoee River. The ZT gets carried when I'm going to work cuz it's big, bad, durable and can handle anything I throw at it. The other knives have been switched off over the last 10-15 yrs. I carried that Barlow for almost a year straight and for an inexpensive China made knife it's seen a lot of use. It has no blade play and walks and talks like any of my Case XX knives. I haven't been able to carry any of my Case though cuz their just to nice to carry. I can beat the crap outta of this barlow and it takes it and if I were to lose it I'd be out less than $10. It holds an edge very well too. I just bought a Hogue EX-01 on the exchange forum and can't wait to get it. I think that's going to be my new EDC for awhile. I abosutely love my ZT, it's the first knife I've spent over $100 on and carried daily.

Over the years, I've carried a myriad of knives, including Vic SAKs, Buck 110's & 301, and Boker classic slip joints - including a well worn dead ringer for my late Dad's old knife (Another thanks, Chris!) as EDC's. In recent years, I've discovered Kershaws - and Benchmades - and more Kershaws and Zero Tolerance. Many BM's have been carried; 480-1, 610/615, 630, 710, etc, for example. Two years ago, I bought a newly intro-ed BM 755 MPR - it became my EDC work knife of choice - all but a 24/7 pocket knife. My wife bought me a backup - a 755BK still uncarried - and a similar Boker Pipsqueak (middle, below) - itself a decent EDC.

My EDC 755 MPR (bottom, above) has had it's Bohler m390 blade resharpened a number of times since it found it's way into my pocket.

Been searching for ideal EDC.
Some been 1.5 years (SRM763), some only few months (SRM T21). Carrying 4 of them today, Enlan EL01 (1 yr +), Enlan EL02 (1 yr), Navy k631(by model, 6 mnths, but current one is 2nd, the 1st got sold), SRM763, so it varies.

Basically I don't have that many and tend to stick to what works.

Other than my little keychain SAK, I too switch up my folders quite frequently. Aside from a few scratches and dings, most of my one-handers are in 'like new' condition. From time-to-time, I feel a little jealous of those who find a knife they like enough to carry it exclusively for years on end...

Full-size RitterGrip in S30V has been my weekday EDC since 2006. For the weekends I switch up between a non-waved CQC7B, a mint BM800,
a Camillus Heat with a 440c blade that was made in Spain and a SOG Visionary II in VG10.

Well I've been carrying a leek in my front pocket for about 1.5 years, it replaced the kershaw mini-mojo I had carried for about 5 or 6 years when the AO spring broke. Wednesday I'll be replacing the leek with a Spyderco Gayle Bradley, and last week I introduced my back pocket to a BM 790SBK, I don't see it going anywhere in the future I'll probably be burried with that knife.

I haven't been able to stick with just one knife for a long time, but the last long run I had was with my 806. I carried it for over 2 years, everyday, with no change-ups.

I love my AFCK, these knives are incredible and priced right.

I just bought the satin m390 and its my go to knife, carry it everyday.

As a kid it was lots of different knives, buck, gerber, and then a benchmade or two. Even with the nicer benchmades I still rotated pretty regularly. That was until I bought a large sebenza and that was it for seven years straight, only folding knife I carried. Two years ago or so I sold the Sebenza and moved to the Sage two. Last year I added a Delica with the ZDP steel which I also carry most days. (One knife in my pocket, the other in my bag.)

There's three new blades coming from Spyderco that have really caught my attention. Techno, Chaparall 2 stealth, and the Ti fluted Native. I could forsee any of those becoming my new EDC in the near future....or maybe I'll start EDCing more than two primary blades. LOL

Of course for at least the last four years some sort of Ladybug has hung off my keyring also. My current favorites are the ZPD model for my home keys and the H1 Ladybug for my work keys that get wet/sweaty regularly.

Have owned and carried my Henckles red jigged bone trapper for about 35 years. May have left it home a day or two here and there but for the most part it is always on me.

I have carried my Buck 110 since I received it as a graduation gift in 1976. Still have it and carry it today. It wears holes in my pockets because of its weight. Its seen better days, the blade is kind of loose now but I have no complaints.

I've heard quite a few good things about BM's heat treat of their D2 and after watching some videos on youtube, I am sure that I'll be happy with it. :D

I agree about wanting to carry them all......I'd be in trouble there since my pants would probably be falling down all day long with the 710, two ZTs in my pockets and a Wave w/tool kit on my belt. Lol

Although the 710 may be overkill for my EDC needs, one thing is for sure....overkill never fails.
Better to have that large folder and not need it than to need and not have. ;)

glad your liking it:) Your 0350 you sent me is great. Been in my pocket everyday since. love the recurve!!

A SOG Vulcan was my first real pocket knife. Carried that for a whopping two years before I switched it with a ZT 0200 last year and I've been EDC'ing that since then. My next long-termer will be a blue M390 Para2. Moving up in the knife world. :)

Been carrying my Spyderco Squeak for about 7 months now and the Delica for the tougher jobs
