How Many EDC a Flashlight and a Knife?

...regarding the CKRT M16-13M... well, I sharpen it in a 3-to-1 ratio. Three strokes on the "shiny" side with the most metal exposed, and then one stroke on the reverse side where it is "flat." This seems to have worked pretty well and I've sharpened all my knives to their sharpest that they've been yet.
Thanks. I've got my Desert Cruiser about as sharp as it can get, but I'm still disappointed as just about every other knife I have is considerably sharper. My greatest revelation (and this is another thread) came when I tried debarking a tree branch. My blade was all over the place. Had to switch to my left hand to get a "bite."

Also... I chose the P2D AND the P3D except I had two P3Ds go bad and sent them back....
Oh, dear. What happened? I thought Fenix was the bee's knees and reliable as hell. Tell you friend to start carrying his light in one of those pockets he has. A light it too valuable when it's needed. No one says, "I don't carry my wallet because it's too bulky!" They can carry a wallet; they can carry an LED. I don't understand people....

Thanx for your comments.

Lately It's been either my Emerson Mini Commander or CQC 8 and at work it's the Surefire A2 in red and out of work it's the Surefire E2D and a little photon light i got free from work on the keychain and a small vik on the chain also.

I have ordered one of those to go with my little bark rivers. By one of those I mean sheath and peak matterhorn.

My mini canadian is fast becoming my favorite knife. I have the psk too but don't like the way the kydex sheath scratches the blade. The psk fits nicely in the mini sheath as well.

Yeah, I wish I'd known about the Kydex sheaths doing that before I spent the extra $30.00 on one for my Mini Canadian. I keep meaning to re-finish the blade somehow, it's pretty deeply scratched. Love that knife, though.

I carry either a SureFire Backup (hot-weather clothing, at work, when weight is an issue, etc.), a SureFire E2D Executive Defender (in environments where other self defense instruments are restricted or where there's an elevated risk), or a SureFire E2L LED light (generally in the woods, or when hunting). Each serve admirably and I would hesitate to carry a light that's not a SureFire.

My current EDC is a Spyderco Native, a Spyderco Civilian, and a Buck Hartsook on my keychain.

SAK Classic (or Manager?) & Maglite Solitaire on my keychain, and a Case lg. Stockman in my watch pocket.

thx - cpr

i carry one of my knives (most of the time a Benchmade 710) and a Surefire E1L, or L4 if i know i'll need it.

To all yall who dont think you need one, carry it around for a week or so. You'll find it comes in handy when you dont expect it.

Along with my Kershaw RAM and another knife edc I rotate in and out, I carry an arc aaa camo version and a aaa mag light I upgraded to a led with a Tera LUX TLE 20 bulb or my Inova X1 gen 2.
And I'm about to order a NiteCore Smart PD 10. Just a little bit brighter !
Oh yeah a 4-D cell mag incan. (gotta upgrade to an led bulb) light in my truck.

I carry a BRKT, Pro Scalpel II LE and a Fenix L2T in a KSF Adirondak pocket sheath. It makes for a great carry package.

Here is my fb EDC combo - a Bark River Huntsman and a Nuwaii 2xAAA LED (.5W) 'River Rock' - a $10 Target goodie - in a KSF pocket sheath:

Some days I'll have a SF 6P LED and a Buck 110 - some, a Spydie Native and a Fenix P2D Q5 Premium. That Fenix is a bright little beast - 180L on one CR123 - and strobes, too... very iritating!

Wha... Am I the only person here that EDCs a maglight?!

I am rather surprised at that...

I have a Maglight Solitaire on my house keys.

Have a photon style light attached to my mp3 player. :)

Three different lights in the car.

Been checking out all the makes/models listed in this thread. My father recently bought a $150 light. I'd like to find something in between what I've got now and what he bought, power & price-wise. 'Course if I could find something as powerful as his $150 light for a much lower price, I'd be happy. :)

Oops. Meant to add that I had that little Solitaire a few years back when I was working at an arts & crafts store. One night the manager or asst. manager decided to start turning out lights early and first turned out the lights out on the floor, then turned out the lights in the back room where everyone was clocking out. Went pitch black suddenly and I turned on my little light. Some of my unprepared co-workers got a giggle out of it. Guess it never occurred to them that someone might carry a flashlight.

I carry a flashlight most times. I don't have a good one, mainly $2 WalMart watch battery specials. I occasionally carry a Gerber, but not often.

I want to get a small Fenix, but haven't gotten around to it. Meanwhile, the RayoVac works pretty well. Light is light, right?

I do admit, if I anticipate a need to use a flashlight a lot, I'll pack a Petzel headlamp. Bright little bugger, and hands-free.

Always...I carry some cheap-o Dorcy LED I picked up at Wal-Mart on my person at all times. I am going to pick up a River Rock though, just for size/weight considerations. This is in addition to the couple of dollar store flashlights, 5D Mag and Black & Decker spotlight that stay in vehicle.

I have one of those River Rock lights and it's spent more time with me than any other light. It puts out a lot of spill for the money and lots of folks still carry it.

I used to carry the little AA, I think, model when I worked as a bouncer. Perfect for lighting the way through a dark club and was small enough that I didn't really need to worry about it being used against me, unlike the nimrods who carried Stinger XT's to work...
