How many knives do you carry and why?

:cool: I normally carry
1. Single-blade lockback folder (Schrade with plastic handle, 3 inch blade) in my righthand trouser pocket. Constant use for everything.
2. Victorinox Spartan (MacGyver Knife) in a nylon belt pouch on the left side of my belt. Tool kit, including toothpick and tweezers.
3. Buck lockback with thumbstud and pocket clip in righthand rear pocket. Emergency use.

My car has a machete and a hatchet in the trunk, to clear branches or other emergency use - perhaps during a typhoon here on tropical island.

I also have a GI can opener on my keychain and a mini pry bar (Pocketwrench II) in the pouch with the Victorinox. Fortunately, we can still walk into work without passing through metal detectors and I am a science teacher, with some reason to have tools on me.

I sometimes carry a Gerber Multiplier as well, but find it heavy and bulky for belt carry. It usually stays in a briefcase. I try to be prepared but not Rambo style.
