How many knives do you carry daily? And why?

I EDC two knives but only one at a time. I carry a Spyderco Kiwi VG-10 with jigged bone handle at my office job, then I go to my regular EDC rotation when I get home.

I carry two. BM551 in my left front pocket and a Buck 112 in a leather sheath on my left hip. The buck is for use around sheeple and other situations where pulling out a black coated, 3.5 inch, partially serrated drop point would cause problems. It also doubles as my dress knife. The BM551 takes care of everything else.

Occasionally I'll carry a fixed blade on me, but that's usually just when I'm gonna be in the woods or I think I'll have a need for a fixed blade.

My New EDC is a William Henry B10 Rio. It gets traded off with a Don Morrow Stag Trapper. One of those is in my pocket whenever I'm wearing a pocket. On the weekends I'll also carry a fixed blade. Recently that has been a Modified Personal Dozier I got from A. G. Russell awhile back. It's a nice inconspicuous carry with the Kydex sheath.

Usually just a small multi-tool and a 3 inch folding blade while at scool, and my Zambezi if i think there's even the slightest chance i'll need something big.

I always carry at least one. :p

Seriously, though, I generally only have one on me. Usually it's a slipjoint of some description. However, sometimes I get into a tactical mood, or want to carry a fixed blade, so in those cases I carry two (I'm never without a nice slippie. I love 'em, and they're perfect for using around non-knife people.).

Peace.
Alex.

Generally two of late.

A "tactical" knife with an approximately 4-inch blade as it is my preferred use length of blade.

Then a short sub 3-inch for "public consumption," as I'm getting tired of prejudicial comments. But, I'm finding that length has its advantages.

Two. One for everything and one for food. The everything knife is a BM710, and the food knife is a Vic Soldier.

It's hard to say which gets more work than the other, but the rule is the Soldier's blade doesn't cut anything but food. The sheep can think what they will of the 710, but I won't reduce myself to using my smaller, more friendly food knife just becuase they might get scared of the 710 (and I would never touch food with the 710, it's cut some nasty stuff).

Except, yesterday I carried an old Micarta scaled Buck 503 as my everything knife.

In normal everyday life it is always two. One is carried in my right front pocket and is the only thing in that pocket. I rarely ever use this knife and only carry it because I get a kick out of being able to carry a knife that most folks I run into have never seen, held, or carried. I guess you could call it "pride in ownership"
The second knife does not get the royal treatment and has to ride in my left front along with change , or anything else I might stick in there. It does the majority of my knife work and is the knife that gets loaned out, when I deem a person worthy of the loan that is, to others. I'm currently carrying a BM 610 Rukus in my right pocket and a Case medium stockman in my left pocket.

Just one or two. Whatever is clipped on, plus a SAK.
I used to work for a well known knife company (retail) and would carry 6 to 8 just for the look on the faces of the customers. One would ask "What do you carry?" and I would start pulling them out.
In my own little world, I rarely have use for more than the 2.

I carry 2 knives on me at all times. I rotate the one in my front pocket and I alwayss have a Buck Gent in my wallet.

My reasoning might seem odd to some people, but I carry two, and here's why: my BM707 IWB for taking care of absolutely everything, and the diminutive AG Russell Ultimate Pen Knife hidden in an equally diminutive pocket that nobody would ever think to look, just in case someone drugs me, (or shoots me in the chest with rock salt) and then takes away my 707, ties me up, and buries me alive, like in Kill Bill 2. No, I'm not joking. While watching this scene in Kill Bill 2, I think to myself, "Gee, I bet she's glad that she has that little blade, and ever since I have carried a hidden blade stashed away just in case this kind of situation, (or something else equally crazy) occurs. I guess you can say I enjoy being prepared.

Tiny Opinel on my keychain, single blade locking folder clipped to my right front pocket and often but not always a slippie in the back right pocket next to my wallet.

2. Harsey Tactical folder with 4.75 blade clipped to right front pocket.
Kershaw black Leek clipped to left rear pocket.
Leatherman black Charge TI in sheath on left hip.
Surefire U2 flashlight clipped to left front pocket.
And then the .45 Kimber on right hip.

Leatherman Charge always in left front pocket sheath (was a Wave for years, till the Wave got used to death) - right front pocket always has a large folder, been carrying an Al Mar Shrike for months but I think I'll go back to my cocobolo T2 for a while...

the Charge gets all the dirty jobs, the folder stays clean and very sharp, I use it almost daily for food cutting though...

Small Swiss Army knife on carabiner key clip, right-side, Swiss Army Card in right pocket, folding knife on right-side belt choice of cheap Chinese junk to Kershaw Ti Blue Bump, or Schrade Blue-Gel, either Buck 110 or Schrade lockback in leather pouch on left side. Big 8" blade Bowie for special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, hiking etc.

My dad always said "Andrew, use the right tool for the job in hand". ;)

Swiss Army Huntsman and Squirt P4. :( That's the best I've got.

The SAK is for a knife blade, and the multi-tool is for the pliers. The mildly effective knife blade on the P4 is just a nice extra.
