Many collectors here in the forum; also some who simply appreciate a finely made tool. How big is your knife collection right now? Care to share?

I don't have an accurate count. At one time I had estimated about 150 back when I could pretty much count them in my head. I think the 101 to 200 bracket is about right though. Though this is posted in the Traditional forum, so maybe I am not supposed to count modern folders or kitchen knives? Probably still fits in the under 200 range, though I have probably a dozen modern folders of one sort or another, and maybe 20-30 kitchen knives if you count every miscellaneous paring or utility knife that have accumulated over a lifetime.

I probably have + 200 but I have not counted them for some time . I have probably gifted more this year than I have bought but I am also getting more selective in what I am buying . Not many patterns left that I like and the prices keep going up . I can quit anytime .

I am the more than I need range of Accumulator but for the sake of the poll, I put 100-200, probably close, maybe a bit low. I had some out last weekend and was letting my son browse through to get an idea what he was going to have to deal with at some point.

I collected - or 'accumulated', more accurately - most of my knives in the 1990s - early 2000s, when I had the financial security and discretionary income to do so. I've never actually counted all of them. But I've always felt a safe estimate was in the 200 - 300 ballpark. The vast majority are stashed away. I've never actually sold any, but have occasionally given one away or traded a knife here & there (for another knife, usually). And some knives were stolen in a burglary of my house back then as well - most of which were never replaced.

I voted between 25 and 100, but I'd guess my count would probably fall between 50 and 100.

I spend most of what i earn on clothes, shoes, bags and perfumes for my wife. What remains to me is wasted.
That's why i only own about 25 knives. I don't have bought any knives since 3 years. I'm only interested by american traditional knives and they are now difficult to get on this side of the ocean . I've given up.
I don't complain, i use all my knives, they all are well fitted to the tasks i have to perform, they all are beautiful.

Dan.

I'm building a database of all my knives. I've been at it for awhile, but it's a pretty tedious task. So far I've got 66 in there. I'm suspecting it'll end up somewhere north of 200.

Fourty or so if you count the junk ones, 25-30 or so if you count only good ones. I have three sets of knives, belt, pocket, and watch pocket, and all have a set of knives that get rotated as the notion strikes me.

The standard pocket, being my 75 case, rarely gets any time off. When it does, its a Case 54 trapper that normally takes it places.

My belt knives rotate between Buck 110, buck 192, Case 65 folding hunter, rarely, a buck 684 in a leather sheath I made. I have a handful of belt knives I need to make sheaths for and I'll carry a few others occasionally too.

The watch pocket knives go between the Case Sodbuster JR I won from Bloodloss Bloodloss giveaway (I was carrying the buck 55 there until I gifted it to my lady), the Schrade 752 advertising knife I won from seas165 seas165 GAW, the Pocket Carver and the Remington trapper (forget the model) that were both gifts from Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 , a Schrade USA 33OT, and occasionally I carry others, but those are the norm. Of those, the Schrade 752 is the one I grab the most. It's so light and slim, yet large enough to handle real cutting tasks.

I always have a Leatherman original in my left front pocket. I need a sheath for it, lost it when my house burnt but I had the leatherman in my pocket thankfully. And often times I carry a SAK tinker in my back right pocket with my hanky, with a lanyard sticking out for quick access.
