How Many Knives Do you Currently Own?

Short answer: too many!

Long answer: I'm somewhere north of 350, with about 80% folders and 20% fixed blades.

I've had knives for years, but started "collecting" last year. Have 41 folders, about 8 fixed blades. Have a spreadsheet of the folders. Need to add the fixed blades.

Impressive, I love the way you've organized your collection. When they are easy to find, they are easy to use! Plus, nothing worse than buying a knife you already have because you forgot you had one!

In addition to knives, I have almost 100 axes and hatchets.

One who knows what an axe is knows what a good knife is.

If my wife took this poll for me she would say over a 1000. Most normal knife enthusiasts are anywhere from 25 to 999 . Over a 1000 your a historian. I'm still under a 100.

I started to count and my number was higher than I thought… according to my wife I have “way too many”!

I didn't do an exact count but I'm somewhere between 100-200. I've sold well over 100 in the last few years, always with the idea that I'm going to whittle down the group because I have too many. Then the siren song calls...... again.... My personal rule now is no new money spent on knives, so I sell to acquire something else.

I'm approaching 200 - but that includes SAKs and other multi-tools, and practical/ tactical stuff. I really need to make some decisions and drop that number significantly.
