OMG don't make me add all that up!
I have never done it and never will because it would make me sick.

Not near as much as the wife has spent on purses. That said, I told her the other day that every time she bought a new purse, I get to buy a new knife. This all came about because she questioned my new knife purchase by that old saying, "You already have a knife, what do you need another one for?" So now I can say, "You already have a purse, what do you need another one for?" Try it, it works.

TOTAL: $398:)

$398.00? I'm with HuntBomb. Please don't make me add it up.

I have more money tied up in my kitchen knives alone than that. (Shuns mostly)

I don't want to think about my EDCs.

hummm, I really want a ZT350 with a tiger stripe blade. ;)

This thread has been done a couple of times. My current total is around $2200 or so, and that's partly due to the low dollar/euro rate of the moment. In Euro's it's around €1750 or so.

And I don't have all that many knives. At least a third of mine were gifts.

We probably have other hobbies that are more expensive than knives. Compared to astronomy or kayaking, knives are a bargain.

including a couple of katanas, around 7K maybe? Still cheaper than my other steel purchases, whew.

About $3000 in the last few month's while I built up my collection. Hopefully it will slow down now.

I just ordered a $700 piece of steel. Hopefully it will make about 30 to 40 knives.

That is doubtful. :D

I have spent more than I currently have because I have sold off a number of knives after buying them and realizing they werent for me.

I gave one like that to my oldest son. It was his first choice out of 7 or 8 more expensive folders: CRK's, Striders. I have about four 0350's in various flavors. Excellent knife.
