How much have you spent on steel?

This is a topic we must never speak of!!! Shame on you for asking!! LOL!!! You obviously do not have a wife to whom such information would spell your immediate and merciless doom. ;-)

Now...this conversation NEVER happened!!! :D

No idea, but I know I've spent at least that much on taxes & shipping.

Hmmmm. If an individual was primarily reading these threads for outdoor tool use info. I'd say just buy a couple of Mora knives, a decent hatchet and a folding saw. Then read up on how to use them properly. This will probably save you a grand or two while trying to define a basic outdoor gear cutting tool set up........... As I have been doing in the last year or so.

Approximately 1200$, it's been almost 3 years of knife enthusiasm. I have a Koster MUCK on order though :O:D

Closer to the truth for a lot of us.

Total spent since last September is $7399.32

Aggregate total after subtracting money brought back in from selling some is $6463.32

In about two years I've been collecting, about $1000 total. My wallet dislikes knives greatly me thinks.

Not real sure but if I were to guess, about 10k over the years. I have slowed down a lot though.

Is this like a joke? In 65 years... added up!!? I'll be dead before I finish counting that high. $4300 for a sword blade was the most I can remember for a single purchase right now. That was 35 years ago when I was 'well off'. Now I'm a frugal old guy and have mostly what I need, so it's only been a couple hundred this year. Been thinking about a couple new Morseth blades though... You must be a newbie. Stop counting.!

Do you mean how much have I actually spent or how much did I tell my wife I spent?

That's two different questions and I ain't answering either. ;)

I don't know really. Guess I really don't care to know. But I know I've spent a good $1000 this year and I have been doing essentially the same sort of buying for 10 years or more.

If I attend the Blade Show, I will generally spend $1000 there in a single day.

Honestly, I've got other hobbies/interests that make knife collecting look like peanuts.
