  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

How much have you spent on steel?

$1700 on my current lineup. The money from each catch and release I put right back into a different blade so the total investment isn't too much more.

Considering that's over a three and a half year period, it's not quite as bad as I thought!

Right at $2000.00 but that,s lifetime I only started collecting two years ago before that in was one knife every two or three years,
But in all not that crazy yet,, I have almost that much ($1800.00) in just one of my Glocks. (Upgrades, four aftermarket barrels, 18 magazines spare replacement parts).

Umm in the past year probably around $3000? Sadly most of that was spent in the last 3 months when I decided to start collecting more high end folders and busse blades.

Roughly zero dollars, net. A lot of money has been moved around, granted, but I'm pretty sure I'm running around either a wash or something like a 200 loss or gain overall. Transaction-wise, I've probably put about 7-8 grand out there all inclusive. All of that (roughly) has come back, however. I only buy at prices that I could resell the knife at when used.

Which also means there are a lot of knives I want that I'm STILL waiting to pop up at a decent price. I've been aching to try a CF/ZDP Caly 3.5, but I don't really want a used one (420 laminate scratches easily), and have yet to see one in the 90-100 range.

oh man, a lot. just this month i got 2 hinderers and the cru wear military.

I'm not sure it's polite to share his name, but a person my dad went to college with, a family friend and Eagle Scout, does. Here is a picture of it on my user name if you still don't belive me.
The paracord, hand, and "SpydercoBenchmadeKai" paper show that this was not Photoshopped.

Still don't belive me? If you want, I can provide you with a picture of it on top of or with any random household item. (Boy, what happended to trust?) Need a picture of my birth certificate to prove that I'm 13?

Here are some bettter pictures of it:

You misunderstand me. I believe that someone gave you a $5k knife. I can't believe that someone tosses around a $5k present to a 13 year old.

No offense intended, I'm just surprised at the enormity of the gift given to a thirteen year old kid.

Wow. I probably have $424 worth of Moras! I am sure I have a lot more than $424 each of Sypyderco, Benchmade, ESEE. Roselli.

Just over $2700 this year. I NEVER sell anything though, when I start getting bored with a knife I modify it or experiment with it.

Gotcha. Sorry--I thought that you were saying that I couldn't possibly have gotten it. Thanks for clarifying.:)

Ive spent upwards of 1500 on knives. As someone stated, my other activities suck up most of my extra funds. Im sitting on around $7300 in my drum kit....

$558.43 in the last 2 months......but I hadn't spent any on knives in the last decade,so I was WAY overdue :p I'll spend 3/4 as much over the next few months, but not all on steel (a good chunk of it hopefully will be the KO edition Work Sharp, and a coupla-three or five more Beckers if I can get away with it,heeheehee :D)

All up no idea and its not something I'd probably want to know. In the last 3 months its around $6k though, those big Busse's are not cheap :)

What ever the total it pales to my other hobbies collection.
