Let's do Australias states..

7 brothers, all wildly hammered on VB (except Queensland who only drinks XXXX) all munching on service station meat pies, all constantly trying to punch on with each other..

Like a school in the summer time. No class.
 
So I bought some burlap "micarta" scales from a very reputable source last spring, and tomorrow they will be slobbered onto a SideKick and we'll see what happens with that.

Is it just me that loses sleep over WTH happens when ye grind stuff like that to shape and meet the inevitable gaps and flaws? Or do end-users just not care, because it really does look awfully dang cool?

Only one way to find out, I reckon. *shrug*

Slow snark today. Those of you that have an see 3/4, do you have a pair of the black linen micarta you'd be willing to trade/sell? Thinking I might prefer them on my 3

Should look sweet.
I worry a little. Probably less than you. :-)
But a bit more clear epoxy will fill in any flaws in the final shape. That's what it's made of, anyway. Doesn't stabilized wood carry the same risk?
I suspect the tighter weaves are easier to get uniform. Sr. 710 made me some blue canvas mycarta last year that was really consistent.
 
Picked up the green micarta Candiru scales on the 'bay from an old source. Used to buy Spyderco closeouts from the guy.
 
There is a haboob outside my office right now... Just thought everyone would be interested in knowing that.
